  • Ramen eggs. Everyone knows how good the marinated jammy eggs are you get in the real ramen. They cost over a dollar for half an egg if you want extra! Which is crazy. You can make them at home and have as many as you'd like. It's super simple for a ramen egg marinade. It's mirin, soy sauce, broth (or water), and a little brown sugar. It's so simple but the flavor is so good! You can eat these on ramen at home. Serve it over some rice with some green onion, sesame seeds, and chili crisp. You also can just eat it on its own, and as someone who's always trying to get in protein, I love a hard-boiled egg, but sometimes a jammy marinated egg just hits. You can reuse the marinade several times. These eggs can marinate up to 24 hours.
There are many delicious marinated eggs. there are Korean and Chinese versions that have different additives or spices. I also have recipes for but for the classic ramen egg. This is the simple, perfect version. I love the 7 minute jammy egg consistency, but you can range anywhere from 6 minutes to 8 minutes!
    6 minutes runny center
    7 minutes jammy center
    8 minutes soft boiled
    8 minutes hard boiled
Add the eggs to boiling water and bring the water to heat first before adding the eggs. Cover and reduce heat to low. Boil for the desired amount of time, I prefer 7 minutes. Put eggs in an ice bath to cool down and peel.
    Marinade:
    3/4 cup mirin
    3/4 cup soy sauce
    1 cup broth or water
    1 teaspoon brown sugar
Marinate for several hours up to overnight. You can reuse the marinade several times. Serve with ramen at home, eat over rice, or snack on them on their own!
