  • Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Conrad Thompson to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed after this happened and they were able to move forward. As Joe said here, the problem wasn't vets coming in to work with the younger guys, the problem is when what they started to undo and redirect traffic away from what the core roster of TNA had been doing and what they had accomplished.
I think TNA had a decent balance between old guard and new guard, regardless of the place on the card. That doesn't mean they weren't in the main event scene or carrying the gold around, but most seemed to work with the rest of the roster, not against it. Communication breakdowns backstage surely didn't help and we see the fallout from that in any company; TNA's struggles are not unique to them.

Scott Hall was a great worker and promo guy, and I'm sorry he passed away, but the truth is it's unprofessional to no show. He was wrong. Nash did what a lot of close friends and family do, and that's defend and enable an addict. Which is wrong because ultimately the addict further spirals out of control. Nash was also wrong in slapping Joe.

Dutch Mantel said Nash slapped Joe. Russo said he saw Nash slap Joe and made Joe cry and he could never take Joe seriously as badass after that. Dirtsheets at the time reported it got phsyical and Nash was aggressor. Only people who said it didn't happen are marks who dislike Nash and some who take AJ Styles comments on incident out of context - FTR AJ didn't see what happened just give his thoughts on what he thinks happened.

I can see both sides of this. On one hand, it was a bit over the line for Joe to bring up Scott's personal issues like that. On the other hand, Hall obviously had no problem being known as a drunk and druggie or he would've worked harder to fix himself earlier in his life. I think the part that Nash took issue with is using the 'drunk' angle again with Hall because it was an absolute disaster when they did it in WCW and only made Hall's problems worse. Nash didn't want to air the dirty laundry or make Hall's situation worse than it already was. Joe didn't really do anything wrong because he didn't know what to do in the situation he was put in.

@@mikeashley4866 they put him in the ring when he had no business being there. Why is Nash pinning Samoa Joe in 2008? Aj Styles in 2009? Booking like that is why TNA ain’t here anymore.
Not saying Nash didn’t add value to the product, but he helped hold guys down in TNA whether it was his decision or not.

Regarding Kevin’s claims about this, Take it with a grain of salt. To this day liar nash claims he slapped roddy piper and piper did nothing at all and scared… didn’t move. Now keep in mind piper was old and had a hip-replacement (real tough guy kev… ) piper before he died said kev slapped him and he took down kev with a double leg and then they were separated. Problem for kev: if you watch xpac shoot on it, he starts off saying: oh yeah yeah i was there and kev slapped him and kev js right, everything kev says is true….blah blah…. But right at the end he says: well piper does do a good double leg take-down, ill give him credit for that!
Lol… xpac and kev didn’t get
Their lies together…. Bottom line: to this day nash lies about a middle-aged man who was far from 100% and 100 pounds… to make himself sound like the alpha make and untouchable. That ladies and gents is a scum bucket.
