At 0:45 the little guy is sometime considered a toy, but a Daruma has a design that is rich in symbolism and is regarded more as a talisman of good luck to the Japanese. Daruma dolls are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck, making them a popular gift of encouragement.
When purchased, the figure's eyes are both blank white. The owner selects a goal or wish and paints in the left eye of the figure's two eyes with Chinese or Japanese ink. Once the goal is achieved, the right eye is filled in. Oh how I wished he had picked him up. Thanks for taking us with you.
When we were in Japan they would burn them at new year. I think it was new year. I was little back then.
Im so glad you posted this. I was going to do the same!! I wish she would have picked him up as well!!!
Was going to post the same! He was originally an Indian Buddhist monk
Kudos to you for being able to speak over Mariah shrieking in the background! That was some LOUD music.
🙌🏽
In the mid 70's, my uncle marty was in the coasr gaurd and stationed on kodiak island, he sent my sisters and i each one of those enuit carved dolls. , i would say, it was at least, vintage, unless they still are making them.

Those lamps made me gasp. You need a both at the antique mall just for lamps. Your taste is so impeccable with lamps. All the decorators and home staging people would by from you and of course us regulars as well
🙄
Clear glass is often beautiful. Unfortunately you’re right, doesn’t go for much and unless is has a makers maker worthy I’ll also pick it up. Maybe one day it’ll make positive turn.
Hi, Sonny! Same with a lot of milk glass too.
@@good_thrifts very true!
The red toy is a DARUMA, japanese toy lucky item, it has 1 eye and you can paint the other eye with a personal desire.
It amazes me how much stock in the Goodwill stores is chipped, broken, or cracked. Who would buy it in that state? I volunteer in a Hospice fundraising shop in New Zealand, and we have a standard policy that nothing in unsaleable condition is placed in the shop. This ensures customers have confidence in the quality of their purchases and, of course, it allows prices to reflect that. Always enjoy your videos. Take care
Here's a wild guess: Some people do buy the chipped items.
The thrift stores figure that if everything was donated, therefore free to them, they may as well put it on the shelf and see if anyone wants it at a low price. Many do get purchased, some people love to rescue vintage items, even in damaged condition.
@@FlaNative3I’m
At 8:55 you went by the diamond-shaped sugar & creamer for the 2nd time. I know you're not a fan of clear glass, but I do know those are older vintage. My Mom had a set like that in the early 1950s when I was a little kid. I think they are probably older than that. No idea what they would go for, but I've always liked them. :)
That pattern was made for many years in many colors and is very common. I would have to look it up to be sure but I think the pattern is called Sandwich and was made by Indiana Glass and Anchor Hocking. Certain pieces may be more valuable than others but the sugar and creamer probably aren’t worth much. Hope that helps.
I like how her nails are themed with what's going on on Niknax.
Those lamps 😮❤
The little red figure is from Japan. I can’t recall the name but my sister brought me one when she had been in Japan on shore leave during the Vietnam War. You make a wish, color in one eye and then color in the other when your wish comes true.
Have a wonderful vacation!
Have a great vacation Jocelyn!! You deserve it!! Much love!! God bless you and your family!! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️😇😇🌹🌹🦋🦋😊😊💖💖💛💙💝💝🥰🥰🌺🌺🌺💙💙💙💙

Ugh those lamps were so pretty
Glass bunnies are so cute.
I hope you and your family have a nice vacation!
Love the glass bunnies. Have great, fun, & safe 4th of July.❤❤
That gourd was amazing! They are works of art.
It’s always fun shopping with you 😊
Historical landmark ... looked like the Leaning Tower of Pisa?
Have a fun and safe vacation! 😊
I love colorful items too. 😊
Why dont we get to see the top shelves of the good will racks ??
I wonder if the wooden wagon at 10.40 was part of your little kitch lady piece that you picked up at the beginning? 😊
I was wondering the same thing.
I thought possibly the same too!
That musical kettle held liquor.
I haven't seen a dried apple doll in years. Very creepy looking for sure
The sugar bowl, I have the set. I believe it's a peach. The set I have is a teapot, creamer and a sugar bowl.
I think the wooden cart is a napkin holder. Probably folded cloth ones.
I think the donkey was backwards on the little girls planter cart. They were facing the opposite direction.
Now I need to go back and look, didn’t notice 👀
8:19 yep.
No she can’t be turned around, the sides are each one solid piece.
@@FlaNative3 Who are you replying to?
Love your videos
I was in Walkersville Goodwill last week... Couldn't find anything interesting that day.......its usually super busy too...and yes, they BLARE 😮 the music.
Love the fostoria
Fun finds today ❤California
I hate that Mariah Carey is screaming in the background!!!
My Nikki made a apple lady once, her sister was petrified of it it!😊
Hello from Mexico 👋

Love the lamps
Hey there Jocelyn ❤😊😊
I would have bought that Noritake platter
That dried apple doll is creepy
9:18 I just picked up a piece very similar mine had purple accent, but I thought it was too deep to be an ashtray. When I Googled it it came up Czech crystal ashtray, now that you said it is one I believe 😊 it weighs 1 lb. 12 Oz.
Thanks
The shelves are NOT bare
What is up with GW and the loud music? All the ones here in S. Georgia blare it too. It makes it impossible to film or talk to anyone in there!
Not only is it ear splitting, but it’s Mariah Carey screaming at the top of her lungs 🫤
I thank the Lord that the GW in Washington does not do this!!
Antique stores seem to do the same thing and it drives me crazy
Can someone please solve the mystery of what Jocelyn’s bracelets say?? I need to know so I can stop focusing on them and watch the videos lol 🙈🙈
@@lhodge1000. One bracelet says ‘NIKNAX❤️NET’ (her selling platform) and the other one has ‘BRD’ with the D backwards on purpose, she said it means ‘bird’ because one of the things she says often in her videos is ‘it has a bird on it’
The Goodwills here inSE Ga are awful.
That vase look like a hobbiest?
That red Daruma is also in the Nintendo game Animal Crossing game.
I win ,lol I saw the praying hands
The music isn’t loud it’s just because Mariah Carey can really belt it out, lol
I believe the wooden cart is probably vintage. Looks maybe 40s or 50s.
i am interested in the glass bunnies hello form Downingtown, pa
So you have a cut time what happens with those items?
Do you auction off baggies??? You could have a baggie sale!
Always fun to hang around with you
Morning Jocelyn lv ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Hi ❤😊
Maybe it’s a persimmon?
The bagged glass unicorn is going to die since you're not going to rescue it
About the sugar bowl...Maybe not an orange, maybe a persimmon.
I think it was an apple 🍎
Probably persimmon.
You passed on the gourd...SMH
Gourds really aren’t worth anything.
The wooden horse with the little girl is a pull toy.
the wheels don’t move
Your hair looks so good.
13:59 already on isle of white vacation. See you and raise you.
❤
😊❤
1 minute ago. Heyyy!
i’m disappointed you didn’t wind up the musical tea pot 😐
Who else noticed the random shoe on the shelf? 😅
I did!😂
It is creepy
👍🙂
The ball you looked at in the figurine section to see if it was a Victorian carpet ball was a croquet ball I think! Looked very familiar with the white stripes!
Not a croquet ball. The stripes on croquet balls are different and they are made of wood or newer ones of a composite. CLL was right, it was a modern reproduction of a Victorian carpet ball. The originals are very heavy.
@@mochick5763 I don’t know anything about the carpet balls, very interesting! It looks just like the croquet balls we had 40+ years ago when I was a kid.
:)
I like the shorter videos.
Yeah, and CLL deserves to have time off! It is summer and she has a family! I can't believe a commenter above felt the need to tell her she prefers the longer videos. Good heavens people, it is a week away. If you can't handle that you maybe should close your computer and go visit your local Goodwills, thrift stores and/or antique malls!
I understand but I still prefer the longer videos
Seriously! Give her a break. She said this was only for the time she will be away.......
