    Really nice bike. I'm glad Kawasaki still makes this kind of cruiser in 2020. I wish yamaha still did the V star 1100. I'm looking into buying a used 2005 soon. My first cruiser. Stopped riding my super sport bike back in early 2013. Stopped cold turkey. Hope its not difficult to get back into riding and different type of bike. If I couldn't get an old yamaha, I would get this your bike , just wish it had dual front rotors.

    Bike looks great, man! Did you by chance have to get new throttle, and clutch cables with the kickback risers? They look phenomenal on the Vulcan, and you've made me want some. Thanks!

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 2 lety

      With the risers I put on I did not have to buy new cables. If the risers were a bit taller, I would have to buy new cables. The risers make a big difference with the sitting position especially if you are tall.

    Aftermarket LEDs are brighter than any mainstream brand like Philips. Hella dual horns oe get an air horn. LED headlight. Just be sure it has a DOT compliant beam and you re-aim it afterward. Hydraulic clutch mod but only if you have 20mm or better throw. Upgrade the front brake hose to remove some squishiness. Front overdrive pulley. Don't do the rear--Barons & others use trash aluminum that wears out after a few hundred miles.

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 3 lety +1

      The footboard does not hit or touch the pipe. The one I put has 5 positions that allow to move it up and also back and forward. It also allows to put it at some angle if desired. I did it parallel to the pipes. No heating issue at all. It is actually a bit higher comparing to the stock pegs, and also it is a metal board that protects from the foot from the heat relative to the original pegs. The rubber is thick as well. When you fitted the bar risers, were the cables long enough to suit the difference in height?

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 3 lety +2

      Hi Darren,
      The original cables were just enough to put those risers. If the risers were a bit taller, I would have needed to install longer cables. I would recommend to remove the clamp (OEM part #92173-0165) that holds and guides the cables and wires at the top of the fork as it restricts their movement a bit, so it looks kind of tight, but it still OK even with the clamp.

    Nice ride Max!! I just installed a Mustang seat on my 900 Classic. Here’s the problem I encountered. The seat slides into the front connection easily and snaps into place in the rear but the back end of the seat does not fully rest on the fender. I am even able to give it a little shake when it’s on the bike. Any ideas why this isn’t a perfect tight fit??

    Hi K Max, did you have to change something to install your pullback risers? Like the brake lines, clutch caple or throttle cable?

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Litz. I did not have to change any of the cables, break lines or wires with these specific risers, but if you put risers just 1/2 inch taller or with greater pull back, you will have to replace cables with the longer ones. When you put new risers, I would recommend to remove the clamp that holds the cables in front of the top of the fork (part # 92173-0165, www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/5c755fb087a8661b00d99719/front-fork). It will free the cables a bit, and they are going to be perfectly fine and long enough for the free movement.

      Reza Munfaredi Hi Reza, the height of the sissy bar is: metal bar itself - 13" from the top of Mustang seat or 20" from the bolts where it is attached to the frame/fender. The pad adds additional 1". It is the Cobra Standard Sissy Bar (SKU: 02-5468 - cobrausa.com/kawasaki/vulcan_900_classic_06_13_1/motorcycle_accessories/sissy_bars_luggage_racks/standard_sissy_bar/02-5468/). It really helped me to improve my sitting position considering I am pretty tall. Hm, not sure, I agree with your decisions here. I mean the bike is or was perfect to begin with, why spend all that money on a bike that already is pretty much perfect already, is that not a slap on the face of Kawasaki to change all them add ons? I can see some things but not all no. Also again this will have cost you at 2-3 grand worth of add ons, defeats the purpose of buying an inexpensive cheaper Japanese motorcycle, I don't get it sorry, why not buy a bike that had all this on already?? So now you have a bike that was 8-9K new to 12-13K with add ons that now is worth only 5-7K depending on wear and mileage? I dont know Max unless you have some extra cash to spend, ride safe bro.

    How beneficial is it to keep the bike up on a jack when not in use?

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 5 lety

      It is good to put it on the jack for any type of longer storage, winter, for example. It keeps the bike streight and takes the load off the tires. These days the tires are pretty good, but you still don't want to have any potential damage to the tires because of the bike staying for a long time in the same position at the angle with all the weight on the tires. If you ride it every day, there is no benefit to put it on the jack in between.

    • @KMaxVideo
      @KMaxVideo  Před 5 lety

      Thank you for your feedback. As it relates to vibration, it might have something to do with the angle of the windshield or the gap between the windshield and the headlamp. I would experiment changing the hight and angle. You might also feel buffeting from the wind coming from the bottom around the gas tank. A lot of folks do lowers to get rid of that buffeting. I am doing it right now as well and will publish a video when finished. Ride safe.

    • @merkava23
