I really appreciate your videos and that you have up to date ones, it has been hard finding videos that aren't two years old. I just downloaded Valheim 5 days ago, defeated two bosses and made a forward base in a meadow that had swamp, plains and black forest access but... it's way across the ocean and I didn't even consider river systems. I wanted to experience the game without looking up the map but I have gotten to the point where I NEED the map haha so I used one of your videos to find my seed and found the perfect island! Which is precisely what you recommend for mid to end game. I am a solo player but I believe I can accomplish it alone. Thank you so much for the content!

Oh quick note, the island I found has the three next boss spawn locations, five biomes and fairly large all of them (no mistlands nearby obviously) and it says on the map, that the two merchants can spawn there? I am a bit confused about that but I hope it is a good choice. I plan to move my very large base and my forward base and move all to the new location with a portal back to the rune stone circle for the boss powers :)

I had a similar issue. My starting base is on an island as well. I was just thinking there must be someone who knows where the best/efficient base locations. Great vid. Subbed
preferably one of the best spots for you to make a final base is where you usually go to such as Altar & Traders and make an outpost in Mistlands(Sap), Plains(Farm), Swamp(Iron). For swamp, I made everything there so that I don't have to go back and forth between my base whenever I want to forge something. I just hauled alot of Iron to my base (almost 1 longboat worth) and I got everything I need to make everything when I went to mistlands.
Ive never thought of putting a base next to the trader, that makes a lot of sense!
I don't know if I'd make it my main base, but i dream of a map with arable Mistlands for jotunpuffs and magecaps right next to Plains for growing everything else.
That sounds like the deam spot! Building a base on the edge of a plains and mistlands sounds like a cool experience, I bet the monsters would fight each other a lot

I once found a tiny island in Mistlands that contained an Ancient Root, I raised the level and expanded it to the sides finding that I could grow mushrooms next to the root, I expanded it a little more and I realized that the biome changed from Mistlands to Plains, that is, I found an island with both biomes to grow and with an Ancient Root included, Sadly I removed the seed from the world unintentionally while eliminating seeds that I no longer use, I only remember found it near Ashlands but not too close
Mountains for me. Untouchable, elevation and you can make a castle on top of terrain npcs can't climb
Thats a great point, I noticed yesterday I was on top of a mountain and I got the you are being hunted event but the wolves couldn't get to me
I just made it to mistland. I see Ill need some black metal and such. MY base is very far so I need a new one. My question is. we gonna use a lot of black metal to actually build suffs? Or I can get things in mistland and bring to my main home through portals? and btw I love plains as well. So Im cosidering finding a misland close to a plain.
You need black metal in the Mistlands, but not LOTS of it. Just like, 100 black metal bars, should be plenty You won't need as much as you needed bronze or iron bars.
Most Mistlands resources are portalable, the only one that isnt is the dvergr extractor, which you need to create the Eitr for all the end game weapons. And you need lots of Eitr. That being said, the material you get with the extractor, sap, can go through portals. So you dont really need a base in the mistlands. You could use your existing base and just make small mini mistlands bases with portals and youd be fine

Don't worry about hosting services. The world files are the same regardless of if you use G-portal or ZAP or whatever else
i do something like that i new map where i choose place where almost all bioms are connected. and i just want build whole base with commands and later start game to not waste time to bringing all stuff to build :D

Small criticism man, you need a compressor on your mic or something, maybe move the mic slightly further away or get a mic with a pop filter. The distortion in my earphones is harsh
Yeah! This video was from before I knew to edit my videos with headphones. So I couldnt hear that sorta thing. Ive focused on that in more recent videos. Thanks

Ive been playing val solo for only a few days and im already to the swamp. How do groups not make it past this? Or do i have a problem?
Sounds like you genuinely love Valheim :) I don't think players leave because of the difficulty, they leave around swamps because people typically play with a group who is playing to socialize and thats the point where others start to drop off so then the world feels empty and sad

Bro i had to make a new base bc i lag so bad. Games fun but unoptimizable and it frames awful. I have a 3060 and havs maybe 20-30 fps in base area. Any tips? Settings also on low
You should gave me a great idea for a video! How to reduce lag in Valheim. The most lag-causing thing in Valheim is enemy AI, followed by fire, and then everything else. So, if you have a lot of fires; that can be a huge source of lag. You can also press F2 to check the "instance count" to see how many objects are being loaded. It sounds like the most effective thing you could do is use as few light sources (fires) as possible

I just need plains meadows and mountain for easily accessing all the animals for one big autofarm. Metal through portals is the only way to play.
As long as you have fun :) I play without portals and I'm never going back!
My spawn island has everything. black forest, swamp, mountains, plains and both traders

Woah this seed does look wicked, I love how much land is there on the starting continent. Check out this seed map "riito". Its got an INSANE starting continent that even has mistlands.

The more dangerous, the more fun right? I love building a castle kinda thing in the plains. But honestly, I think I love the plains because its the only biome you can actually see shit in! You like building in the plains?

Theres always a way to make things work with mods like planbuild and upgrade world :)
I kept smiling as the video went on, you started talking louder and louder and louder, then it tapered off. 0:03 compared to 3:27
It took me a while to get the hang of rrecording these videos so a lot of the earlier ones the mic gain is way too high. I live in an area where theres background noise sometimes; so id basically yell in order to cover up the background noise. Im better about it these days though and i don't yell at my microphone anymore xD

I actually made a mistake with my microphone on a bunch of videos and had the mic gain set to loud. Thats why it sounds like that, even though I'm just talking regularly
