From my experience, the more you spec into AA defense, the less you see CV’s.

ive been saying that for months, i have a 98 and a 99 rating for 2 ships and it doesn't matter if 5 or 6 cvs are in Q i will almost never get a cv in a match, I am not exaggerating. I have talked about it in chat and nobody believes me because few people spec into an already good AA ship so they never experience it.

This is 100% a thing. 0 I've had really lucky streaks where it was just CV after CV. Get pissed off and build into AA. Boom no CVs.

And it's so nice being able to play a DM properly without being harassed by planes all the time. And if there is a CV, I don't feel completely helpless. Just mostly helpless
@j-p_t7978 it not good because your AA are useless and you will weaker then same ship as you because all skill is aa focus (plus u not farm any plane)
Austin is the definition of fun frustration...1 game you can get 150k+ no problem, next 3 games, 50k and deleted from the map by one salvo from a BB if you aren't perfectly angled or hidden.
Tried out the Austin two days ago with the buffs and commander skills. Haven't looked back. Even with T11 CVs I just shred the planes.
The only difference I have with my Austin commander skills is I go for concealment over the top grade gunner in order to make it as stealthy as possible. It's a DD hunter and opportunist cruiser, so the more stealth you can pump into it, the better. I usually follow the DD's upon initial map load and help them shred any contestants they come up against
Yeah, it's always the safer option to build for concealment. However, I've noticed that as you become more and more experienced, you don't need it, yes having better concealment makes things easier, but after you learn to be efficient without it, you can pull off ridiculous things. I like to run colbert without any concealment buff, only speccing into improving dpm, not even range and while I don't recommend it, the smallest mistake can kill you, if you learn how to not die, you become a one man army basically.
I play DD’s 90 % of the time. Wish you had my back. It’s hard to get backers.

I go for more lighthouse style since as shown you can tank more than you'd expect and having the extra reload is very nice.
@@gamkem1405 Yeah, I get what you mean. Personally I try to be there for dds, but it is difficult, especially on some maps where it's hard to find cover and at the same time have a clear shot at a possible direction where the enemy dd could be and often I can't do much, because these days DD players are usually overly aggresive at the start, so even if I put my ship on the line, my teammate just dies. Which is why I never forget to praise my fellow dd teammates, when they play correctly and focus on not dying.
@@micklane7306 Yes, that's right, but it is a bit trolly, it is possible though when using WASD HACKS properly.
Not easy to play and you sometimes get frustrating matches but it's one of my favourite ships in the game, fun fun fun. Absolutely love it.

I’m glad I just got the Austin last month lol. Only a week for commander resets? I was playing over the weekend and I couldn’t reset anything. It was still costed me a couple hundred thousand commander points.

If you're not sure to spend the steel for this ship you can first try the San Diego. Yes it isn't a real powerful T10 dakka ship with Infinite burst fire (reload booster) modes, but the characteristics and play style are similar at T8 with SAP.

Why taking Top Grade Gunner. I mean i have a reload of 6,6 (with reload module 3). With the skill i get 6,07, thats not a big difference. Thats about 1 shot more per minute. Or is my math wrong?
With this new buff I can't decide between Austin and Incomparable :(
What is more fun to play between thouse two ships?
I have both and I'd say Austin is more fun, but bare in mind it is also much harder to play well so if you're not comfortable in light cruisers you may just die a lot, also incomparable suffers to CVs a lot, dev striking cruisers from stealth at like 11km is very fun though
Austin will give you 5 awful games in a row and then one unicorn carry game that makes it all worth it
Are there captains who have colored markers for their boats?
Yes almost every nation has their own commander with certain special skills. They are available for coal in the armory

The only ship Dazzle seems to be amazing on is Paulo Emilio. Being point blanks and having folks not being able to reliably hit you and a brief speed boost on an already fast ship is a huge plus.
4 points for a skill that is almost useless if no cv is in game or just dont attack you is pretty expensive.
yea i take it on almost all BB builds because 2 points is whatever but 4 points is just not worth at all
AA is triggered by more then just CVs ya know. Spotter planes, Fighters, ASW planes, Dutch Bombers.
@@jaywerner8415most of those you either wont shoot diwn in time anyway or it simply doesn't matter
@@Joshua-fi4ji dude....its not about shooting them down, AS LONG AS YOUR AA IS ACTIVE (ie shooting something), it lowers the cooldown time of your Consumables.

Hey pq if u see this try the agincourt. Its an absolute beast at its tier and extremely consistent especially at devstriking cruisers. Its my best performing ship with 80k average damage per game
Tier 5 is a joke where new/ poor players & bots are, why don’t you get to T10 and play with actually good ships & mostly experienced players.. no one that plays tier 8/9/10 cares about tier 5 bro

@@liran547 They did, but Jinan is really bad and the buff wasn't that big, so shells still have a long flight time.

@@liran547 Jinan has deepwater torpedoes so it can only torpedo cruisers and destroyers, but to be in range to hit them with torpedoes, it gets spotted by the destroyer in between.
And so it dies.
Kitakami uses regular torpedoes so it can just launch them all over and might kill the destroyer even by accident so it doesn't need to get to the same distance to be impactful.
And so it doesn't die (as much).
@@dzello"Jinan bad" in your hands likely. Jinan has busted levels of dpm and torps that you can absolutely ruin bb lives with as there isn't going to be a destroyer everywhere you look. People love to say so and so light cruiser bad when chances are they can't play it for shit to begin with. The way I see it is those torps would've been dodged by the dd anyways so focusing on speed and damage for what you're going to more reliably hit is better anyway and you'd suck even worse in an Austin
