@@heroneo8822 Jump attacks, and keep close to its belly when prone. A alot of its swipes will just go under you when you jump. If it falls over, jump attack his head before a critical for extra damage.

Agreed. It doesn't hit like a sack of bricks till it's pointed out and this animation does a superb job at expressing it
That is pretty much what happens in the actual game though. You're not some local looking to save the land, you're an actual foreign invader looking to conquer.

I never realised I needed a sitcom about a Rune Bear and Erd Tree Avatar living next door to each other until now.
At times Elden Ring feels like Australia where everything is out to kill you.

The bear roar while waddling towards the tarnished with a shotgun is one of the funniest visual/audio combos Carbot has ever done
The Tarnished being a nuisance for everyone in the Lands Between has become my headcanon

0:02 This is the hero (or heroine) of today's episode. Erdtree Avatar. A miniboss found all across Lands Between under young Erdtrees. Around it you can see dead Pot Boys. And yeah it's weapon does look kinda like a rake.
0:09 Young Carbot is not going to have a good time.
0:14 This thing will attack when you get too close.
0:21 Don't bother trying to hide behind the Dead Pots, this thing can and will destroy them
0:25 It's attacks also include Smough Smash
0:30 And sadly sometimes you'll be molested by some other enemies during this miniboss. Do yourself a favor and first kill surrounding enemies.
0:32 And this is another attack Avatar has. Projectiles.
0:38 Good shot on the Avatar here (also this thing like Margit likes to delay it's attacks)
0:42 Honestly if you ask me this boss fight isn't that hard. Just get on Torrent and you are golden. Makes this fight much easier. Carbot over here didn't realize that yet it seems.

0:53 And THIS is why you fight this thing, after beating it (or finding it under the tree) you get crystal tears which you can use in a special bottle which you can infuse with 2 tears like that. Those here from left give those abilities:
-First one from left gives you a bubble that will protect you from like 99% of damage next time you are hit, great for certain bosses
-Next one temporarily boosts Stamina
-Blue one for a while eliminates all fp consumption which is VERY good if you have something like Comet Asure. You will melt certain bosses or annoying minibosses with it. Trust me. There are some VERY annoying ones
-And the last one restores half of total HP. As you can tell mix of first one and last one is the best one here. It will help immensely.

For those curious, actually constantly staying behind the Avatar is the easiest. Except the putrid ones, but simply roll/run away when it does the goomba stomp AOE, then get back to hitting its backside with flame related attacks.
I love how the player character is just a public menace, just like in invasions.

@@timotheebrasseur6188 It depends on the perspective...to some it could be "Yeah whatever", but there will always be the ones that are addicted to their cages and dont want things to change and to them YOU are the villain.
@a proverbial lemon It's stuff like that in this game that doesn't work for me. The ancestral spirits attack you on sight. There is no player choice here. The game is simply full of things that want to kill you, for no apparent reason.
That bear was so done with the player characters shit.
I like the idea that Tarnished is just an intrusive jerk and the bosses just want to be left alone.

Bloodflame helps with these. I had to cheese the rot versions with a bow. Love how you turned him into an avid golfer, and lawn enthusiast.

Try Frost and try lightning. They are almost completely immune to bleed

These are so freakin clever. Truly understanding of how the game feels, but also adding all the bonus touches that take it to a new absurd awesome level, from the sitcom music and set up, to things like the Rune symbol instantly appearing after our Tarnished gets launched to the routing and rerouting. Brilliant and funny.

This is so accurate in the first play through 😂 the Erd tree is just sweeping away then spots you, all hell breaks loose till he sees the Rune bear, he comes out all shotgun blazing.. this is so epic!! Great job guys!! I’m hollering over here 😂😂😂😂

That look of pure joy as the Tarnished destroyed the mailbox 1:05 told me all I needed to know!

I remember getting annihilated by the shooting lights the first time I fought them. then I remembered that they are made of wood. and wood is very flammable.
after that it only took a few firebombs to defeat the first few erdtree avatars.
One of my favorite enemies to fight. One of the few that doesn't "spazz out"
That's because it's the Asylum Demon from DS1 with an extra move or two, that moveset is as oldschool as it gets.
Except the one in Caelid. Fuck that one in particular!

The Erdtree avatars aren't that bad strategy wise.
Unless u have enough space and the do not cast rot. The ones near Malenia made almost break a controller. Especially the one in front of the gate with all the ballistas. Only to find out later that there is a bonfire right behind them ….

Yeah, Luckily I desperately ran past on my first playthrough because I was out of heals and saw the grace. I was killed immediately after the "touch" animation, but at least I spawned right next to my runes. Subsequent playthroughs, I still run past, rest, then just lure mobs in one at a time or snipe with arrows, then hit the avatar after everyone else is dead.
@@Ramnokri There is a way you can cross right that is above the walk way to that Avatar surrounded by ballistas. You can take that to get to a high place, destroy the ballistas there, and safely snipe the Avatar from above. To get there, there is a door to the left after the room with the two cleanrot knights. You enter that door, and there is a tree branch you can walk up, and outside there is a flying buttress you can cross. Cross the flying buttress, and at the end jump into a courtyard with Miranda flowers. From there it's easy mode.
@Elizabeth Jane That works if you are a strength build, and went through the effort to obtain the Jar Cannon. Another similar method that takes a special build is using Radahn's bow. These are viable strategies, but aren't sure fire for any build. I guess someone could respec just for this, but I would rather figure out how to do it with the build I have.

I loved fighting these, till it starting raining and my fire spells became weak.
The runes popping up immediately after the character is putted got me!🤣
Watching this gives me PTSD from fighting the Edrtree Avatar ,I died so many times to them
they're not too bad, generally. It's just that they have ridiculous damage stats. As long as you have space to dodge them, you'll be fine.
@@Wyzai that wasn't my problem with them, it was the leap to the ground and the glowing circle with the yellow homing beams that gave me the most heartburn. If I could live through that I was okay
