- "Old Comrades", is a German Military March written in 1889 by Carle Teike. It is an incredibly well known piece, being using by the Imperial "Deutches Heer", all the way up to the modern "Bundeswehr". It speaks of the friendships many in the armed forces have with one another, and the hope to live old and become "Old Comrades".

Fue escrita por un desconocido compositor de marchas militares llamado Carl Teike, se dijo que uno de sus superiores había ordenado a Teike que arrojara esta marcha al fuego, cosa que no hizo .
Más tarde se convierte en una de las marchas más grandes de la historia, fue utilizada por muchos ejércitos.

My grandfather has been mobilsed in the wermacht by force in 1941 soon after the capitulation of Yugoslavia. At the battle of Kursk, he was caught by soviets and sent to Sibiria as POW. When the war ended, he was lucky, because the soviets let him go home. When he come to Yugoslavia by train, he was still in German uniform and he was forced to stand on his legs all the way. People were pissing on him. God bless our grandfathers who had been fighting in WWII, doesn't metter on which side.
I’m French and a lot of people here sadly forgot that even on the axis side 90% of the regular army soldiers didn’t want to be here as much as we didn’t want them to be here, but today we stand for each other like brothers remembering the scars of the past.
I respect for all of luftwaffe and wermacht soldiers and officers and l like them so much , my best greetings for them.

This march is one of the most played in the Argentinean Army. Argentina traded marches with Germany and Great Britain. The change of guards in the Buckingham Palace is done at the sound of San Lorenzo march, a very beautiful march composed by a negro Uruguayan musician named Cayetano Silva. But a terrible blooper happened in the late 40s when French Gral. Jean de Lattre de Tassigny visited Buenos Aires in an official visit. When he was descending the stairs from the ship, the 1st Regiment "Patricios" band began to play Alte Kameraden. The general stopped and immediately returned to the ship. Alte Kamerade was the march that German troops used when they were marching around the Arch of Triumph and down the Champs Elysees.

Ero come sempre con mio padre e rimasi assai colpita dal cameratismo che univa questi alleati di una guerra persa,ma con onore e questa marcia che accompagnò l'arrivo ed il congedo dei partecipanti tutti. Quando mi capita di risentirla vedo mio padre ,la bandiera dei Diavoli Verdi,quella degli N.P e del BTG.Azzurro ,i brindisi (innumerevoli Prosit e "A Noi") di questi ex soldati che avevano combattuto insieme dall'inizio alla fine la stessa guerra. Potere di una musica o di un profumo di evocare ricordi indelebili.
