You absolutely nail Duffy's tone IMO and play his stuff brilliantly. It's nice to have a new version of this song by you. I've watched the older version dozens of times.
I just purchased a Players Edition Gretsch Falcon in Sapphire Blue. It’s my first Gretsch and I’ve been playing for 25 years. I’m a les paul player, but the build quality and tuning stability of the Gretsch is amazing. I wasn’t sure about buying it, it’s $3,500 USD and made in Japan. But it’s turned out to be an amazing instrument, right up there with my Murphy Lab Les Pauls.
Yet another vintage, 38 year old cask aged Cult classic: ‘Duffy’ - THE single shot for the discerning Gentleman Rocker…Nirvana indeed. When you absolutely, positively want to rock every mofo in the arena! Accept no substitute!
curses ..that bit from 3.39 and the climb down is just beyond my capabilities... wish I had a close up of your left hand . or better still . come over to Ireland and show me sometime . I'll provide the Guinness .
Ha, I always make time for Guinness. That solo bit is based around the same shape up the neck in octaves - you just move up from the lower riff. The down bit is on the B string and isn't exact, just as long as you hit within the key it works
Thanks Gordon, effects are the usual Distortion, chorus and delay with a stereo enhancer effect in Cubase to try to get that Roland Jazz Chorus amp sound
Haha, I learned guitar to the Love and Electric albums then songs by The Cure, Killing Joke, Nephilim, Mission, Bunnymen - loads more. Big fan of that era guitar sound/riffs
Sicuramente avrai ascoltato l ultimo .......* Impermanence * prima parte diciamo un riff fuori squadro😁 seconda parte più orecchiabile ......aspetto ......altri brividi......

Something about a Gretsch - just have that solid build quality and stays in tune, even in the case after a few months!. Expensive but worth it.
Excellent cover billy would be proud
Cheers Spiddy

@@AlternativeGuitars Your a good man . I shall soldier on with it . Nailed spiritwalker in the meantime for good measure . 😎
That looks like the sort of guitar that drinks the expensive whiskey.
Well done 👏
It does!
