  • The horrific tragedy of the village of Lidice, literally wiped off the face of the earth by Hitler as retribution for the assassination of Reichprotektor, Reinhard Heydrich in 1942 which claimed the lives of 192 men, 60 women and 88 children, is a place not too far from my where I live. I visit often to pay my respects and try and wrap my mind around the unspeakable horror that this once idyllic farm community experienced. It is now a National Memorial where the absence of a once beautiful Czech town silently reminds us of just how evil man can be.
A production by Florin Radoi and Rick Manore.

Beautiful video, tears in my eyes. Every time I go to Kladno, I feel the empty space on the left and imagine the houses, the school, the church...

Thank you very much for the review and subscribe. Indeed it was a very emotional place for us. This is why we decided to make a short film to tell the story. We are just expats from Romania and US living in Prague, but the memorial impact on us was so big that we try to make a short documentary about it in paralel to our standard jobs.

"Must the innocent bleed for ever to remedy
These fanatic fits that tear mankind apart?
The pangs we felt from your atrocious hurt
Promise a time when even the killer shall see
His sword is aimed at his own naked heart." CDL

This Beautifull place is only 12 minutes from Prague Airport(Vaclav Havel Airport). It is the village of Lidice that the Nazis decided to "erase" from the map in 1942. Countless cities in the world have adopted the name Lidice and Thousands visit this place.Visited The Fabulous Village with my wife in 2017 OCT 04.......LIDICE LIVES ON!!!!

Thank you for the comment. I would also suggest to view ,if you have the time , our documentary “Terezin. The Fortress of Lies”. It also contains this part about Lidice, and it tell the story of Terezin ghetto and Nazi concentration camp, only 40km away of Lidice
