So I was bored, got heavily inspired by a kindred video I just happened to stumble upon today, and then this thing happend.

I made this video from scratch myself, cut the voices apart and edited them into the order I wanted them in and all of that, so while I know this is a lot alike the video I got inspiration from it's actually only heavily inspired, not copied. I just used the same voices and the same music (which that video doesn't own either), so the only thing I kinda "stole" directly was the idea.

I love lamb understanding emotions but obviously not feeling them, while wolf feels emotions and barely understands.
It's both beautiful and tragic.

exactly, it was written by Matthew Dunn.... his mother died because of cancer, currently he is now a cancer survivor, his father just died recently and his wife has a breast cancer
The most powerful line for me is "Those who run from death, stood still in life."
And those who focuses on a glorified death fails to see how good of a blessing life is, contradicting it.

That quote holds true for so many people today, too scared to take risks. To scared of death, or struggle. Even though it’s inevitable.

In Kindred's story, the "pale man" is them before they split into two.. they're the death symbol in Runeterra and kind of Yin and Yang as well.. there's darkness in the Lamb and light in the Wolf. Lamb gives the ones that accept death a painless passing and Wolf brutally murders those who run from death. One is deaf, the other can't see. One can understand emotions, but can't feel, the other can feel, but can't understand.
although lamb seems more yin (less energy, cold, reason) and wolf seems more yang (more energy, hotheaded, emotion), so i sort of wish their colors were switched. i don't think they each represent light or dark or good or evil because they are both a face of death, in which all is ultimately equal.

I love the subtlety. Lamb is soft spoken and kindly. Wolf is gruff and violent, but the true danger lies in Lamb, and the true heart lies in Wolf.

Also if you read the comment again the first characteristics are the wolf and the second the lamb.
Since the wolf does not have a physical body and does not understand feelings even though he can feel them while the lamb understand and does not feel.
That's why the lamb asked the wolf what it feels like when he's sad.

when you realize this comes from the spirit that takes you away. It really makes you think, damn, how much scarier is it to waste your life rather than to lose it
When one dies they still live traces to show they lived memories with a loved one,a child,a silly comment you wrote, a kind word you said to someone and so many other things so the one way to truly kill someone is to erase those traces for if they are not there how can you show you truly lived

This gets me every time. The lines contrast so much with each other which is what makes it powerful. “ashes on wool” would seem as if they stood out; the starkness of the black on white. However, “feathers falling on fresh snow” would imply that not a single sound or whisper could be heard. So I see these lines as “you may have stood out, but did you really make a sound in the end?”

Another aspect of this is that one is blind while the other is deaf. They need each other to see and to hear, to feel emotion and to understand emotion.

Those lines are beautiful. They are kindred's observations about the fearful condition most people live in, only to be amplified when meeting death.
They cast the voices of Lamb and Wolf perfectly. Matt Mercer and Marcella Lentz-Pope did a beautiful job.

Fiddlesticks copies the voice of his victims, a long time ago when kindred was one being, when fiddlesticks killed someone they could see kindred "the pale man" come for them, so that's how Fiddle got the voiceline "pale man"

I REALLY hope they will show Kindred in the Arcane series. Not maybe at second season but at some point, and it wouldn't even need to be a big role. Kindred as looming figures at background or for a quick moment with some of their memorable quotes would be such a chilling scene.

Would be great, and they can take it further by introducing kindred after jhin to explain his obsession with death. Jhin could have some experience which allowed him to catch a glimpse of kindred. Where he couldve learnt his humming tune from and his obsession with finding beauty in death. Which also opens a door for him to be part of the 'A good death' story

Notice how there's no pause between Lamb and Wolf's lines, that to me indicates how they're each one half of the same being.
The responses between their dialogue happens instantly after the one is finished talking, because there's no need to think of an answer. When Wolf asks Lamb a question, she already has the answer and vice versa. I think it's a really nice touch.
That implied backstory of Kindred is beautiful. A god of death would be quite lonely, so the idea of one deliberately becoming two so that they would never be alone again is so bittersweet

The dynamic of their relationship is so deep and unique.
Whilst Lamb is knowledgeable she is unable to feel. Wolf is strangely clueless about the emotions.
Despite this Wolf seems to understand that he needs Lamb, that with her he has a friend. Lamb meanwhile seems to bear some sort of unspoken affection for Wolf, just like how he needs her around she acknowledges in the same way she needs him around just as much.
It's never explicitly said, but the way they flow off of one another speaks volumes.
Lamb feels motherly to wolf imo
Lamb is the fast gentle death like one dies in its sleep....while wolf is the slow painfull death like one dieing of cancer or an illness that one trys to cure with no avail...both are one and both are separate...one is an embracing loving hug that rocks you into enternal sleep while the other gnaws at your body taking everything from you untill you are nothing but pain and sarrow....

Wolf gets to hear the soft and scared sounds of those who run, the lamb sees their humble targets who are willing to accept them.

This quote is so freaking good. I mean all of their quotes are good tbh. But this quote specifically is especially motivational and applicable in our lives.
It tells us that we can't freeze up or get stuck up on our fears.
Fear of mistakes, fear of being embarrassed, fear of failing, fear of not meeting expectations, fear of never reaching your goal, fear of death. We have many fears, but we can't let these fears stop us in our journeys in life. If the hero in a story stopped and gave up because they were afraid of failing, then the story would end right there. Or at least, we would find it very boring or unattractive. We read follow a hero's journey to the end because we want to see the hero overcome their obstacles, defeat the villain or succeed at their goals.
Many people fall short of their dreams because they're afraid. Afraid of failing, afraid of not being accepted, afraid of being afraid.
And it's okay to be afraid. It's only natural. Fear is simply apart of our instincts; fear protects us from danger. But sometimes, that danger is the obstacle we must conquer to reach new heights.
If humans were always afraid of animals and never thought to fight back, we wouldn't have made it to the top of the food chain. Instead, we grew and overcame these dangers, these obstacles.
Humans made it this far because we learned through failures faster than any other animal. So don't let a problem keep you hung up.

Kindred is logic, telling us to give up against impossible odds.
Wolf is emotion, telling us to never give up whether it be due to spite, anger, or ambition. You have nothing to lose, so why not try?

Death is but a reflection of life.
When we die.. we either die happy, knowing that we did all we could and made the most of it or tried. Or we die full of regret, wishing we had tried.

Quite literally Wolf telling us he's glad we didn't give up. That we're willing to try to the end and not give up. (Don't FF 15, it ain't over till it's over.)
Or Wold is just a little sadistic.

Pursuing your ambitions, means accepting potential mistakes.
You miss every skillshot you don't throw.

I do firmly believe to this day that Kindred is one of the greatest Champion that Riot has ever created and i rarely play as Kindred. The kit, lore, voice actors, theme everything about Kindred is perfection. The only Champion to ever rival Kindred when it comes to being the best created champion or even better is Jhin.

@@strider8662, maybe it's the server indeed. Within last two months on RU I've seen 1 Anivias, 0 Corkis, 0 Alistars, and about 5-6 Kindreds (and countless times Yasuo). I've played a lot of games though, like 250 or so

The Kindred's death is kind of a paradox. They'll never end, because they're Death. Even if their time comes, they won't be able to hunt each other, because the Lamb won't fear death, and the Wolf won't be able to hunt her. The Wolf will fear death, and the Lamb won't be able to hunt him.
Everything is temporary, but the Kindred are eternal.

The Kindred, Lamb and Wolf, are quite honestly the best portrayals of Death I have ever seen. They are what they are, and never change, just as death itself never changes. It simply is, and so are they. And in keeping with that, they have no desire to speed up the process of time, as seen in a lot of media where death becomes an antagonist. They are ever-patient hunters content to let the prey come to them, rather than track it down to begin the hunt prematurely. Because they are inevitable.

@@kingjalilo1430 Jhin is obsessed with death, but he is not death itself. Jhin sees death as beatiful, as art for him to create, but ultimately any death he causes will have Kindred watching over it. It is the difference between a cultist and their object of worship.
Honestly, the fact that Jhin and Kindred have no interactions ingame is massive missed opportunity. Both are asociated with death (One is obsessed with it, the other one is death itself) and both have an artistic flair to it, Jhin seeing himself as an artist while Lamb has her poems, stories and dancing animations. Yet despite all this I doubt they would find much common ground seeing as Jhin puts value in the very art of death while to Kindred death is just a natural part of life and it is how one lived that gives meaning.
You should have the video coda by maps and plans. That’s also quite a beautiful portrayal of death.
Death is nothing negativ, it in itself does neither hurt nor harm anything, the things surrounding it may, the thing causing it may, but not death itself. It is coming home, falling asleep, nothing to seek nor to run from

Kindred is so interesting to me because of how Lamb and Wolf's personalities reflects human understanding of death. Lamb embodies our logic and understanding, she is the acceptance of death. While Wolf is instincts and emotions, the animalistic desire to run from death. As humans who have the ability to think about and philosophize death, we logically can grasp that yeah, we all will one day die and we can accept that. However, when it comes down to it, we as animals will naturally fear death and want to flee when confronted by it.

i just realized when lamb tells wolf a story she references them as 'the pale man with dark hair' and didn't until now see the symbolistic and visual story telling. Pale man which is a ref to lambs pale ash wool and dark hair which could be a reason wolf's body looks like dark tendrils.

i cant help but picture a small, innocent looking, pale young woman standing in the center of a room while a giant spectral wolf rampages around the room in slow-mo taking out other fighters, and only momentarily stops or glances at the girl when he speaks.

Lamb embodies acceptance, understanding death and so not fearing it. Wolf embodies feelings, knowing death and thus fearing it.
What's crazy about this portrayal of death is that Lamb isn't portrayed as the "correct" way to approach death, she is cold and apathetic just like someone when they come to understand their end. But neither is wolf as it comes from a place of fear and rejection, an innocence embodied by his child like behaviour.
There isn't even a middle ground where both approach can meet (right down the middle), both approaches are intertwined, (never one, without the other.) because there really isn't a correct way to deal with death (or portray it). There is only death and it's no abstract concept, it's the only thing that's real (we are not dreams, we are the waking).
Hands down best portrayal of death since the discworld series.
Wolf wants people to fight and delay their end. Lamb wants them to accept. Wolf wants blood, lamb wants peace. They are the perfect embodiment

I feel.. Wolf forgets and Lamb knows this. And she asks him questions to help him remember. Tells him things to remind him who they are. When she says something he would finish it and then she would say it and he would finish it. She answers all his questions. And tells him great things. To keep him to remember and would tell him again if he were to forget. She lets him finish her sentences so that he can remember.

I know this is an old comment but yeah it does seem like Lamb is the only thing keeping Wolf lucid.
Wolf is more like he’s forgetting himself with all the lives he have taken, becoming more and more like a animal but acts on his instincts and feeling, while lamb has become numb with no emotions with all the lives she has taken, but she remembers them all. Lamb makes sure to help wolf remember himself and what they are bound to do, while wolf makes sure to tell lamb what feelings and emotions are. Like the saying “never one without the other”. They both need each-other to do their job so one will never lose themselves. Killing does something to you, it takes apart of yourself and destroys it, either to a insane killer or a emotionless killer. They have been taking people lives for so long, but they are stable when together. So they can be Death itself.

So much effort has been put into creating characters in all forms of media and in all my life I haven't come across a concept I would consider to be high art till now.

These are such an amazing portrayal of death. They show different sides of death. Wolf shows it as a violent experience that should be feared. Death is not kind and you should run before it catches you. You must go out with a fight. Lamb shows death as a peaceful thing, something that marks your life as something beautiful. Life is temporary and no one can escape its end. Don't run, don't struggle, this was always meant to happen. This is what I think the main message is:
Let death embrace you but do not let it comfort you. Just because you always knew death would come doesn't mean you should feel comforted by it. No, still fear its cold, cruel gaze but do not forget that this harsh being marks the end of something beautiful.
