I have a resin poured bone chad shad, and was scared the Spro wouldn’t get bit as much, but I actually catch more on the Spro(probably bc of the color) than I do the original! Very impressed

Just ordered 1...being a lure junkie, i just had to have it 😂 will see about the hooks, as i only throw mono on big glides/swimbaits....can't trust Fluoro, unless i change it out weekly...and braid is a no go for me with big heavy baits w/trebles.....thinking the extra give with mono may make a difference with hooks not bending
I've taken mine out 3 times and gotten bit 3+ times each outing, I was hesitant with it being a production bait for $60 but spro knocked it out of the park with this one

Also, I have caught 22 fish on this bait just this month (Toledo bend. I keep a booklet of my swimbait catches) and 19 came from me just slowly reeling the bait in. I always mix up my retrieves and do a steady wind, then windxchop, then just chop it in the next time and I always seem to get bit just reeling it way more
How big were the fish you were getting? I’ve got a pond in my neighborhood that’s full of 2-3lbers but I want to draw out the 4s more often

They have them at cabelas/bass pro shop. I got every color in 3 days. Tackle warehouse had everything backorder

Funny that they knocked off the Cover Scat and announced it the same day you posted this and talked about how they worked with the bait maker and didn't just blatantly knock him off. I almost bought a chad shad from a while ago but I didn't because I had just bought the K9 in Sake bomber color from last hookup tackle drop. I thought I should spend more time with that bait than splitting it up between a couple. Last Saturday I caught a 7.4 another 5.8 & then a 8.6 with k9 in glide mode. Was an absolute awesome day for me!!!
That’s an incredible day man! That K9 does magic in the water!
I treat my Chad Shad like a down sized finesse version of the K9. I get similar longer glides on the Chad by streamlining its profile and increasing its inertia with neodymium magnets (holding the hooks up and out of the way) and plenty of lead tape up front as counterbalance.
Geoff, how do you think this would do with muskie grade hooks and split rings?
It’ll make that bait sink faster but you should still be able to achieve the chopping action!
For $60.. I can't complain. Besides the hooks, colors are slightly off from display pics. But who cares, it gets bit! 🔥

Just recently scored a white KGB crappie from Michigan waiting for them to drop the original black crappie version. Have you ever fished with that particular bait? If not could you try to get your hands on one and Do a review

I bought 2 Bone color and am painting them into gill patterns. No idea why they don’t do a gill option for us Pond guys. I know he sells the Crappie and gill version but the collab could add that color and get a huge jump in sales. Thanks Geoff!

A question if you don't mind. Saw you buzzing around Canyon lake last winter. We talked briefly over fishing near the marina. My son is looking at a 14ft flat bottom boat that has a 9.9hp motor. He's thinking of buying it but I told him the 9.9 is pretty small ffor the bigger local lakes, like Canyon,Sag. What size motor do you run on your boat? You seemed to get around pretty good. Appreciate your advice.

First one smashed it within 15mins, it was over 5 and bent the hook out landing it on shore. Had an Osprey almost grab it too, that sucked. Have high hopes for some Stripers, with upgraded hooks of course.

Yeah catch two in two days fishing and less than 30min both quality 4lb and they are documented in SU. This is the best bait I am going to suggest to anyone want to enter glide bait word.

I found some at a tackle shop an hour away from me. I found out through IG by following them. So far, they’ve had two drops and they didn’t sell out as quickly as I thought. I’d around to your local shops and check.They’ll drop without any notice most of the time.

yeah, those stock trebles are absolute garbage, they bend out just looking at them...
but besides that, what a sick bait!
plus I don't care about the stock hardware on any bait anyway, as I always swap it out...DRT Sharx #1 work great for this one!

My biggest knock on the bait is it helicopters on the cast.
Yes, I forgot to mention that, it helicopters a lot but still casts fairly well

@@crazybassfisher it's like everything I imagined could happen for any angler, but imagined decades ago when nobody heard of big swimbaits to catch big Bass. I know Japan has really taken advantage of the opportunity to innovate and build up the industry over the last decade and a half. And before that there were the pike fishermen, and their metal lipped plugs, and other oversized creations like the original whopper plopper configuration. The east coast surfcasting striper fishermen with large wooden swimming plugs, hand made by the Gibbs family. But Southern California always seemed so off the radar for freshwater game fishing. Then suddenly seemingly overnight So Cal became the place to be and the pioneers of a new way to fish. I was there when and where it all started, even before Bob Crupi was busy putting Castaic on the national map. I saw the original versions of garage baits for sale at the boat rental stands that were the most third world looking concessions stands anyone could imagine, especially at Pyramid Lake. A place still considered obscure today, but arguably the birthplace of the big swimbait industry specifically made for largemouth, that we all recognize today, back in the mid to late 80's, I wanted so badly to participate in it as I got older having intuitively recognized the future of a burgeoning industry through my teenage years. especially after finding out a person could charge $20 whole dollars for just one lure. But all I could do was fantasize and express my justifications, predictions and desires for what I really wanted to do for a living back then. But was ridiculed and discouraged by my own parents.
It's a satisfying feeling to know you were always right. And the way Kevin did it was pretty much how we all imagined it could happen for anyone of us. But most of all, nothing like how the AC PLUG was commercialized like an imitation and how Allen Cole would end up being treated by industry and sports fishermen alike as an imitation himself.
This is coming from a person that fell in love with bass fishing when I was about 8 or 9 years old, and discovered Jimmy Houston on an obscure Southern California UHF television channel, KDOC CHANNEL 56.

Does anyone know of a bait painter in AZ? I was finally able to pick one up. They only one they had it in the perch color. Only used it twice and had 1 really nice follow. I got too excited and chopped it a few too many times and it lost Interest. I made 1 more huge mistake. I ended up getting a huge migraine throwing up, couldn't see out of my left eye with a huge headache. Ended up leaving it on my dashboard for the afternoon and the paint cracked Long story shorter. don't be a dumbass like me and forget you placed your bait on the dash,especially in this wonderful state of Arizona we live in.
Not any painters I know out here to be honest, yeah, leaving baits in the truck in Az is a no go haha

Yeah, kind of a bummer on the hooks but I have fished baits 2-3 times that amount where the hooks were not good
@@crazybassfisher that's insane. I bought 4x strong trebles decades ago. Strong hooks exist and should be included with super expensive lures.
