Pretty much the easiest way to tell the difference online is the price. If the figure costs way below retail, it's a bootleg. That's regardless of if it's a Hasbro, SHF, Mafex, Mezco, etc.
i recently just purchased this bootleg figure (now is Sep 2023), and i think they have made a 3.0 (bootleg) version of this spiderman. The weblines, hollow head scuplt, and the color are mostly match with the 2.0, but this "3.0" got really nice and tight joints, and the upper leg somewhat got the extending version like the original. Maybe it's a 3.0, maybe... 🤔🤔
Bootleg 1.0 the webbing on the diaphragm isn't flush with the abdomen (common occurence). Bootleg 2.0, lots of missing webbing around the figure and that big gap around the hip area as you pointed out.
When I check the reviews for 2.0 bootleg Retro Spidey, the majority seem to have a positive reaction to it, with some going as far as saying that it pretty close to the original. I'm confused now. Before watching this video I wanted to buy it but now I'm sceptical. What do I do?
I think most of the cheaper bootleg retro spidey (the 2.0) will be like this figure that I got. Its still able to stand and handle some poses, but quality should be as per my video. The better one is twice the price, but you can see for yourself it's very good. Of course best is if you're able to get the original. But anyways, they newer spideys are decent figures as well (amazing friends 3pack, amazing Fantasy, renew your vows), why not look for those?
@@Stillfigurineout I see. Is the plastic quality decent enough on this though? Anyway the reason I'm not lookin out for the official figures is because they are really expensive when the price is converted to the currency of the country I'm in rn.
Nope.. now you can only get this from the secondary market.. so you gotta get from a source that is legit or ask seller to send more close up pics so you can check if its original or not
They are definitely bootlegs I remember me and @stillfigueringout got into a friendly discussion about if these were bootlegs or not. I said they were real he said they were high quality bootlegs. I was wrong lol

Is it as cheap as the 2.0? Because the 1.0 was about twice the price of 2.0

I wanted to point out that I noticed the shading of the color of spider man on the bootleg is more of a purplish blue
