fished the same spot last friday we only had frozen bait , one of the best days we have had for a long time fish from the off, have allways like to fish cambois beach bit further up north end. as usual darren canny video down to earth craic 👍

Hi Lee. We do get Plaice up here. The mouth of the Tyne used to be great for Plaice. The middens beach in North shields used to be a hot spot. They are also taken from the base of South Shields Pier too. I have not heard of too many caught personally. I have not had a Plaice for years. Had some nice ones from Tynemouth Pier in the past. Probably around 2lb, but I rarely weigh fish.
Got one off Blyth pier a few weeks ago, not massive. Had a huge one off Craster harbour wall years ago though, literally dropped my line over the side and it took my bait as soon it hit the bottom!

Hi Simon, You are indeed correct. I was there this morning. Once the workers started at 8.30 a.m. , anglers poured off the end of the pier.

8 or 9 pound and that fish was landed off the hot water pipe when the power station was working.bait was rag worm.

I saw one being caught from the walkway at South Shields on Thursday evening, on the corner next to the old broken jetty

@@robertpetch5182 you had many bass or dogfish up there? Apparently crasters a hotspot for dogfish
