My first dog had lymphosarcoma on her neck, we went to a holistic vet and got kosher liver, i felt so bad feeding her when her throat was swollen, she die in her sleep at 7, her daughter had the same cancer and she was 11, i learn to end her suffering.. now my bully just diagnosed with mast, im not taking her for surgery even my vet said to do so, i believe it already in her system before the bump that popped up overnight. She'll be 11 in August.. she has a good life.. thank you

My 11 year old pit/boxer mix had a mast cell tumor on her shoulder. It was removed but in less than 3 months has spread to her back leg , top of her head and 3 tumors on the same shoulder.
We couldn’t afford to see what grade it was or even if it was cancer the doctors just removed the tumor for a nominal fee and hoped it would go away.
We only found it was mast cell after they did a FNA on one of the three new tumors on her shoulder.
She’s already lost 15% of her body weight and I just wish I could get a general estimate on how long she has so we can make her life as comfortable as possible.

So sorry. it's terrible isn't it. We lost two dogs during Covid. Now we're facing chemo for our third dog@@sm00chys41. I don't know how much more we can take. Thank you for posting your story. I always think I am alone in my grief and challenges, but then I read a post like yours and I don't feel so alone.

@@sm00chys41I'm so sorry, I found a bump on my bully's leg, like it just popped up overnight, but before that her back looked thin and can see the nobs of her spine, she'll be 11 in August, I think I'm not going for surgery because my gut says it probably spreading before the bump..I don't want her to go through the trauma like you did..bully's life is around 12..

My 12 year old lab recently had a mast cell tumor removed near his anus. High grade and was about an inch long into the tissue. Clear margins. The incision is not healing. The vet has re-sutured twice last week. This morning, he could barely stand from a prone position. My gut tells me he has less than a month. Thoughts please.
