There is a new way to do trees where you rent them out and they come in a pots and stay alive and then the tree gets picked up after Christmas and they take it back and replant it for you and you get the same tree each year !

OMG! I remember, we were such young parents... with no money. So, for Christmas tree decorations, I baked cookies to hang from the tree!! At this time our boys were 3 and 1. Caught three sets of legs looking out from under the tree.... daddy thought it a great idea to have a cookie eating contests (no hands!). 'Til this day I hang cookies from the tree! And our oldest is 31!

Mid July and loving this winter Christmas vibe. I'm one of those that listen to Christmas music year round. Loved "don't listen to her tree, it's ok". And Neo loving the stick is another great reminder how we don't need toys, etc., the simple things are not only the best but foster creativity!

it was a tradition in my family to collect travel dolls when you went on an adventure overseas. I have some from the 30s from my great great grandparents but we were never allowed to touch. I recently found them shoved in a box at the parents wardrobe. I decided to make them into Christmas tree decorations by adding a glue gunned ribbon to the back of there costumes. This tree is THE MOST EPIC PRETTY TREE EVER, people always comment about it and it is always a talking Point to figure out what country the little figure comes from. it's also great for the kids to learn about traditional costumes. because I didn't get many on my own travelsI have found a lot of these little dolls which can be so beautifully handmade from OpShops, antique stores or vintage markets. it's such a unique tree ,god I love it I'm going to put it up now, thanks for the inspiration. .also Sting and coldplay have really cool Xmas albums
Next time, see if the tree place will cut a piece off the bottom and cut an X into it so it will absorb as much water as possible. Then, after you set it up, leave it for a few hours or overnight before putting the lights on so the branches will drop in the warmth of your home after being wrapped for the trip home.
Great thing to do. But if you water daily will be fine this year.

I like white lights on the tree, my 11 year old likes coloured lights, so we add both to the tree and have one or the other switched on (while the other is switched off) at different times.

What a cute video. I can’t lie. The white lights are pretty. But I’ve always loved the magical feeling with multiple colors in lights. My family is doing 25 days of Christmas and some things are like paying for a strangers meal. Or help someone in need. Read a Christmas story. But my favorite outside of giving and spending time with my family is the Christmas pictures. Family photo. And it can be as unique as you love to make it. Thanks for the video. This made me smile when I unfortunately a little sad today.

Neo is so adorable! I did love the demo with the blurry background button (for lack of better description), Louis is such the epic longtime vlogger but it is great to see how far these cameras have come and here's hoping no one is going to use their phone when they can use this lovely wide-angle lens. I always use colored lights. I just love color! Also, I always got special ornaments each year (label the year) to gift to them when they are adults. My grandchildren have ornaments with their name on them from each year.

My parents used to joke that I was probably the only baby who didn't say "Da-Da" as their first word, instead mine was apparently "NO KIT!" because they got a puppy when I was about seven months old who was named Kit- and lets just say she was more than a little bit mischievous and not well house-broken so I'd hear that A LOT. 😂 Neo's at a super fun age, soak in all the moments :)
There could help been a squirrel living in the tree like in the movie. This was a wonderful video watching Neo looking at the tree. 🌲❤️
What a wonderful Vlogmas! Your tree is perfect...The word for a "bird specialist" is ornithologist. Love that you had a nest in your tree...what a surprise. I am hearing recommendations that one should use a leaf blower on a tree before bringing indoors to blow out insects, dirt, etc. Not a bad idea! Merry Christmas!

Finding a nest in your Christmas tree brings prosperity. It’s a German/Nord tradition to add a nest. So dry your’s out and include it in your future tradition.

I love decorating with snowmen. I also get a lot of decor from dollar tree.
All suggestions for decorating houseplant, I know you guys love your indoor jungle... The fairy lights that are on a thin wire are great, you find with an outlet or battery pack :) I also like to tie big bows around the pots or add other little decorations to them. Lightweight ornaments like paper snowflakes or felt balls are fun too.

You love a bit of DIY and festive fun, why not make your own Pallet Christmas Tree! We made one with our youngest son (he was 5 at the time) and he loved it. You just need 1 pallet, and a bit of paint. Some simple cuts to the pallet and let your creativity go for it on your painting and decorating. Ours sits outside the house every year and is coming out this weekend. Plenty of videos on CZcams / info on Google of how to do it. I remember what it was like to be first time parents. Something you wont realize until later is that Neo wont remember any of the things like Christmas decorating, birthday parties, presents, etc etc etc. Basically everything before age 3, consider you are really doing those things for yourselves. Merry Christmas to your sweet little family!

When you bring a tree home, you should leave it for 24 hrs before you decorate it to give it a chance to drop/ settle back to it's old state when it was growing. Don't forget to keep the water topped up especially with a dog around, the needles will last longer.

We always considered it good luck to find a birds nest in our tree. We just left it in.

What I find original and you can make to your liking is getting an old pair of skates and paint all or part of them and just making them Christmasy. Hang them on your outdoor lighting or door or even inside.

We have an led-light-net hung across the ceiling of our hallway and put some christmas ornaments (balls) on nylonstring on it, it looks like they ar floating in mid air - magical

Some ideas you could so for tradition is
1. make salt dough Christmas ornament as gifts or even for your tree
2. Ribbon cut to the height of
Neo and put it in a clear openable ornament
3. Match pj on Christmas
4.make Christmas cookies year right now it be more you guys not Neo but as he gets older or even try doing the paint on a cardboard or paper in a sandwich bag trick but with the cookies and icing
Also I'm pretty sure your supposed to let the tree sit for the night after taking it out of the wrap
