I started my blog back in 2016. And of course, I made a ton of mistakes! So today, I wanted to have a little fun and think about what I would do differently if I were starting my blog in 2019. If you want to learn how to start a blog, I'm sharing the blogging platforms I swear by, some of the mistakes I made and how you can avoid them, and of course, how to be successful as a beginner blogger.

I have been looking at what seems like millions of pieces of advice and it is so confusing to know where to start , and I am older, ( definitely makes a difference 🤷♀️) but I just have to tell you, I love your approach. It’s direct and down to earth. I am at the very beginning and trying not to be overwhelmed so I’m going to watch more of you to see if I can just learn how to start for real. I enjoyed this video. Thank you for keeping it real in the beginning when you talked about those titles on videos/Pinterest posts that make it seem like it is a get rich quick concept. I also like that you mentioned to stay consistent with the blog and not giving up so soon.

Thank goodness for this video! I have been researching how to start a blog over the past couple of weeks and everything I found was full of affiliate links and it was difficult to determine how people really felt about the products they were promoting. I found this video to be really clear and answered my questions, of which there were many, especially considering I knew nothing before starting my research

let me start by saying you have been helping me everyday this year- my notebook are wrote down with interesting notes i never knew what and how i can go thru my channel and pages.!! and i just started my own website on godaddy and highly recommened. were having trouble starting the blog itself but watching really got me thinking more about who I am and what i want to accomplish and how to connect with my audience. got myself even a designer myself, so im very proud of the things pushing that i wish i knew before, but like you said , things happens for a reasons

This is so good thanks for making this video . I ended up spending so much time on a wix site yesterday, but now I’m going to focus on a word press blog
I've been thinking about starting a blog to start a life for myself and also support my family, but I've also been doubting my abilities and knowledge to do so. When I first started watching you it was because of your name. It was so cool and unique and I could always remember "which one" is you, I never mixed you up with other youtubers who just have their names, so I think your name is actually doing a great job :)
I’ve thought about blogging for a few years now and still haven’t started. I can’t get past what I could talk about that people would want to read. I keep watching different videos trying to find some missing piece but it’s always just that, I don’t have anything I can teach people. I also doubt myself because I have no creativity skills. Trying to be positive but feeling more and more stuck in life.

When starting a blog what are at least the top 3 plugins I need? I'm reaally on a tight budget here so I can't afford a lot of plugins that I know will be helpful but if I can only pick 3 as a starter for now so which plugins are the most essential?
When I first watched your video the name was what stock. I didn't subscribe right away. But then one day I needed some more CZcams support and I remember the girl with the high quality videos (those are many on CZcams) but then I remembered the unique name... Thecontentbug. Didnt quite remember 'the' but I sure did 'Content Bug'. Great name!

Don't be afraid to be redundant when repeating this video, I find it very useful. Is someone talking to you about designing web pages in Mexico City (two: P wordpress in godaddy) and learning how things are done in the US. ...I definitely agree to buy a hosting, and there to set up your website, design it outside (offline ,in your computer) the hosting so that you know how to move the page to any hosting if necessary

Of course! Like I said in the video, I wouldn't ever recommend using Wix if you actually want to grow. So it might be time to invest in a better platform!

Hey, Cathrine, I love your content and I'm following you since 6 months now. But I don't know a word what is domain and all. Please tell me I really want to create a fashion Illustration blog. But I don't know it's start even.
I always buy my domain-names from company (A) and my hosting from company (B) and if it turns out (B) sucks and I want to change hosting to company (C) or (D) it's a simple matter to change where your Domain-name points to.
If you fall for the free domain-name with your hosting then decide to change hosting your domain-name is stuck with your 1st host.
You can transfer but that is a hassle you can avoid by keeping them at separate companies.
would you suggest the Wordpress domain services when you first set up your blog? And does that website actually count as a domain service? Also what does "hosting a blog" mean? I keep hearing about this term... but it's kind of confusing to me... like what's the difference between "hosting a blog page" and "a domain name". Thank you!

I appreciated this video, however you never said WHY you switched from Bluehost to Godaddy?
I believe its because bluehost requires you to go premium once you reach a certain level of traffic. Godaddy may have been a better deal for what she needed
