    One of the many great and funny things about the Wrexham takeover is their sponsor Ifor Williams. Wrexham's existing sponsor was a Welsh farm trailer manufacturer called Ifor Williams. As part of their takeover, Reynolds and McElhenney made some commercials for Ifor Williams. So this modest sized trailer company has Deadpool making commercials for them, which would have cost them millions on the market.

    American here who's loved football for decades and a huge fan of Always Sunny, and I loved Welcome to Wrexham. I've been following the club weekly since the acquisition so I knew the outcomes of the matches, but the series was really really well done. I love that you guys watched this. “Welcome it Wrexam” is a great documentary. We’re obsessed with it in our house. Now my husband is getting up at 4 in the morning so he can listen to the games. The doc is not only about the new owners and the game, it introduces you to the players and fans around the city. It’s so uplifting and fun! My husband even ordered an official jersey. I asked him to get me one, but they were completely sold out by then!

Me and my wife are planning to go to a game and spend a few days in town. But, to be honest, when the OB’s started talking about the different towns and leagues, I was lost. The Wrexham series is fantastic. I have watched a lot of the “soccer” shows on Netflix and Amazon but love how they have done this series. I have attended one match in Europe and that was Florence versus AC Milan. It was quite an experience. I am a retired Soldier and a student of military history. “Men of Harlech” is one of my favorite patriotic songs. I have Welsh blood in my line so following a Welsh Club is only natural. I am very pleased to have been introduced to Wrexham by Ryan and Rob and I have become a fan. I am a fan of the US Men’s Team and am anxious for the World Cup to get started. Cheers and go “Red Dragons”

If I'm not mistaken I think Ryan Reynolds just bought a house in Wrexham, he sold his mint mobile company here in the states so he could invest more in Wrexham... its got me interested into a game I always thought was too slow.....

    Typical jarhead American here and before "Welcome to Wrexham" I would have watched paint dry before i would have watched a soccer/football game. After WtW I have a basic understanding of the league and game rules. I had no idea you could get a minor penalty or error and the other team gets what amounts to a free "Hail Mary" play in American football. Promotion and Relegation are totally foreign concepts to American sports. Blows my mind the idea of the Yankees being 6 seasons away from beer league baseball if they lost enough. You are correct. I went from no interest in soccer, to listening to the brilliant club broadcast of the Wrexham Football games over the internet on Saturday mornings (stateside still morning).

    I hope we get more people like Reynolds & Mcelhenny to invest more in football and other sporting teams as they seem to understand it is bigger than just the team but the wider community and its impacts. This to me is philanthropy at its best. I find it strange that we seem not bothered by corporate billionaires from Saudi or the States etc etc that have no other interests than to feed their personal power and greed to fulfill their own satisfaction and ego. I hope it shifts the focus on whom we feel will benefit the cause, game and community...

They've assembled a legitimate team and they pack out the Racecourse Grounds with 10,000 fans every game now it's amazing to watch. They also just got approval to build another stand as well to expand capacity to 15,000. Barring any setbacks they should go up this year. Rob has one of the longest running shows in television history and Ryan is nearly a billionaire. I think they're in it for the long haul.

    Rob n Ryan have already spent more of their own money, and brought in more sponsorship money, and MADE more TV money fr the club, sold more shirts, and done more fr the while Town n Community in 18 months, than the whole UTD class of 92' have done for Salford in 10 years!! Wrexham is putting pressure on the UTD owners now to do more.....but they are focused on themselves....Rob n Rob are 100% committed n focused on progressing the club! Theres a massive difference! Wrexham will rise higher than Salford ever can in next few years! Salford! Gary Neville is more focused on his Hotel! Beckham hasn't been to Salford game EVER! They just put their names n £50,000 in! £250,000 in total in 10 years! Then said it has to sustain itself! Rob n Ruan have out put £3-£4M in already in 18 months! Ownership is one thing, active committed participating owners is another!! Anyone talking about Salford? No! Does Beckham or class of '93 ever mention them!? NO! Wrexham shows that in reality that Salford is just a "Toy" they can't even be bothered with.....they did enough so it wouldn't go out of business as they grew up in the area, but that was it! And Beckham! He doesn't care, he from Leytonstone, East London, and more interested in Inter Miami!! 🤣🤣🤣

    I was nervous about US/Canadian Hollywood types doing this sort of thing ("Please do it right!")
    But, after watching their documentaries about all the earnest effort they are putting into the club,
    I am now VERY PROUD of how Rob & Ryan are handling themselves (they understand how much this really means to the town) -- Even on US interview shows, they are very careful to correct a US interviewer who says "soccer" --- Rob, "Yes, FOOTBALL is very important, and we are trying to be respectful and give the community the respect it deserves with this..."

On a side note, if Netflix is thinking of a new releasing model instead of the bingeing model, they should follow how Hulu released these episodes by dropping 2-3 on the day. You get the satisfaction of watching more than one but it elongates the release schedule so you don’t have to binge all in one sitting even tho I love bingeing lol

      You need to win the league or runners up or via a 3-6th place playoff. That gets you promoted to the league above you. Bottom 3 get relegated to league below. Some leagues have different numbers of who goes up / down.

    • @brianmoore6724
      @brianmoore6724 Před rokem +5

      Depends on which league you are in. For Wrexham only the top team goes up automatically. The others enter a playoff and the winner of that playoff goes up. In the next league up I think the top two move higher and the next four enter a playoff. For the top league, the Premier League, the bottom 3 drop down to what's called the Championship and the top 2 from the Championship automatically go up and the next four enter a playoff for the last transfer up. The bottom 3 of the Championship drop down to the next lower level. It goes back and forth like that. Wrexham are in a league with a BUNCH of teams and with only two going up and only one of those automatically then it's very very hard to go up. Last I looked a week ago they were in 2nd 1 point behind Notts County. (3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, you play each team home and away during the season)

    As for future signings as they progress into League 2 n 1, players will release that in this social media age signing for Wrexham increases their social media profiles 10x, and even as a player that enables them to create their own opportunities during n after playing career, they could even get acting or modelling jobs etc or set up own social media opportunities, channels etc so Wrexham has massive added bonus to sign players against other clubs all other thing being equal etc. They won't even need to pay extra salaries......they can offer team n family trip to Hollywood every season! 😳🤣🙏

    I always grew up believing Notts County were the oldest team, although on The Chase I'm sure "Sheffield" were an answer The Beast gave and was correct🤔. Need to get onto Google.

    Didn't wolves get relegated three straight times then several years later get promoted three straight? I might be adding something but they made it back quickly

    when you know that Ryan has 20million followers on tiktok, them going to sponsor his club kind of makes sense. i just wonder who contacted who first. also, this documentary ran at the same time as some pretty big name shows and still outperformed... i know a bunch of people, who even went to watch a episode of that ignoring new episodes of she-hulk, house of dragon and whatnot... it's kind of crazy when you think about it. also, it got a 97% audience score on RT...
