Really useful video. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Great review thank you. I'm curious also what software you used for this screen share? The rounded windows and things, it looks nice!
It's called Tella! Here's a link: tella.tv/?via=matt (also affiliate link, so I get credit if you end up signing up for it!)
Hi Matthew, I'm currently evaluating whether or not to launch an online community and, if I do, which platform is best. So I really am brand new to this. I found your video to be enormously balanced and very helpful. Thank you for sharing what you've learned so the rest of us can benefit!
Glad you found it very helpful! Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it!
Hey! Thanks for this video and sharing your thoughts! Quick question. Can you charge for a webinar or event outside of the membership? For instance, I'm also looking at Podia as an option, and one of the benefits there is that I can host a webinar for the community, but then sell that webinar outside afterward. But the community aspect within Podia doesn't have the UI and UX these two do for the frontend user, and I want to make that as seamless for them as possible, so I'm starting to lean away.
You can sell one off things like that, it just might be a little clunky. The way I would imagine it being is that you have space for just that webinar and sell access to it. Spaces in Circle are pretty limited at the moment though and even if you do that format with Mighty, it would probably make your space unorganized on the backend pretty quick. I would guess the better solution is selling one off webinars and events via a ThriveCart or something like that. Podia could work too. You could connect everything with Zapier if you wanted to too.
@@MatthewGira Awesome! Thanks so much for your help!
Circle customer service is horrid. Even on the $219 per month plan you have to wait 3-4 days to get a response. Mighty has live chat---- big plus. And how you saying the pricing is similar?? Circle is $99 per month for the starter and $219 for the business plans and Mighty is $39 for the starter and $119 for the business.
Interesting! I haven't had that experience with Circle. I've been able to chat with them pretty quickly most of the time. Even the founder has reached out within hours at times.
Pricing is definitely similar. Circle has a $49/month plan. Just have to scroll down a bit.
@@MatthewGira wow thats crazy. we have had nothing but issues and ended up cancelling.
the $49 plan is only a 100 members tho
@@johnw5427 Ah. Didn't see the 100 member limit. Thanks for pointing that out.
Did you go with Mighty Networks or something else instead?
@@MatthewGira Yes, we went with Mighty.
