Hello👋🙋♂️ there... Amazing and very interesting video🎥.. Super like👌👌👌 Great 💡💡💡ideas for a project like this. Thanks for sharing Do keep posting Warm regards and best👍💯 wishes The UnknownManCub 👍😎👨🏭
The previous owners of our home made a walkway with this form. We keep the grass from growing up by using an electric trimmer to cut it short. I used to like it with some grass growing between the pavers but now we keep it short. Nice walkway :-) Ours makes our house have a cottage look.
If you mix the concrete just a little more wet, when you take the mold off all of the walls of the shapes will settle against each other and combine but the top will still have the cobble stone effect. That way you don't get any grass growing between.I made a 75 foot walkway through my yard with this mold and regular concrete mix and it cost about $1.50 per foot. After a few years it settled in to the yard and best of all no more muddy shoes.
I used this mold to make individual cobbles. I made several different colors and laid them out to create borders and pathways. You should dry brush them after removing the forms to remove the ridges along the edges.
Home Depot no longer carries them. For the most part, right now you can only get them from Lowes, HSN, Amazon and Ace Hardware Online. I also could not find them in the UK. Here in the USA they are a product of "Quikrete" however it's another company that manufactures them in Canada. To get them in the UK, someone will have to find a retailer who will pick them as product. In the meantime, all you can do is to make your own molds from wood forms or use cement stencils.
you can remove them almost immediately. Providing you use the correct amount of water. I've poured several pallets of 80# with these molds. I bought 2 thinking I could fill one while the other cured. Found out I didn't need 2 for that. I needed 2 because I broke 1. They are A LOT OF WORK~! If you don't like work, walk on dirt.
Man, that looks like hell. I had these forms that I made a walkway for, about 15 years ago. That didn't look to bad. But the larger patio area with grass just makes it look like someone dumped unused pavers on the ground and the grass started to grow around them
I didn't understand what you were showing at the end of the video. Were you trying to show what this concrete path would look like if left to grow unattended and wild? I cant imagine someone wanting that particular style on purpose. If this is indeed a new trend in landscaping then I've been on the cutting hedge (or more apropos non cutting) of style with my over grown yard for years ha! But hey you put effort into it and took the time to actual make a video and open yourself up to stinging criticism, which is more than most on here can say, myself included. I applaud you for that. I did edit my original comment, which upon reflection must have been at the end of a bad day cuz it sounded more rude than I intended. I apologize, as honestly, that was not my intention. I guess I got caught up in that WTF happened to the landscape moment at the end of your video. Who would have expected a plot twist at the end of a building a walk way video. Two green thumbs up from this DIY'er.
+iwantosavemoney Is that your professional opinion? I offered constructive criticism not a personal attack unlike yourself. If you prefer the less lived in, overgrown, natural landscaping then sing it's praises bud.
I am using these with concrete mix and it is pain in the ass. Make sure you get good quality cement because if it has too much rock it is hard to get good results.
your right. I've put my share down. I used redimix quickcrete. This vid looks to be mortar. I'm not one to put extra water ever. However, Once you pack the mold, you can remove it right away and press the stones down.
It actually involves alot less time and effort to just use color mix in concrete, then stamp it as it gets a little harder. I have done this alot recently since people want these stamped aprons on their driveways. This would not hold any weight.
What's more important. The whole ground isn't sealed off and rainwater can soak into the ground instead of running into the sewer or simply flooding the ground.
Cindy ann Clarke You are correct, using the quickrete with a small amount of fibre's in the mix to add strength is very good. Also I think the look that they were or are trying to achieve here is that tight look of the moss or creeping thyme growing between the stones. They may have been trying to save money and just added the grass seed and it was still in it's growing period. I agree with other's that it may not have looked nice yet, I hope when the grass matured and they cut it, It is nice and tight the way it should look. I do think they did a nice job though on making the pavers. I have seen some videos where the concrete mix was just thrown in, leveled off and the mold pulled off. leaving a lot of jagged edges and not very smooth tops. And they actually moved on to the next paver. SHAKING MY HEAD!!!! So I know everyone's not happy with how he finished them.. but isn't beauty in the eyes of the beholder anyway? Happy Spring everyone. Let's see all of your how to video's! ;P
Last year in May had spray on stencil put around my pool area, now in places it is lifting, the person who did it is not coming back to fix it. Can you give me suggestions how we can fix it?
Looks unkempt...like an abandoned home,I would have gone with a dark mulch between the spaces & added a solid brick border/edging...Cool concept though,I myself would have done it a tad differently...
Wow! How much is that in USD? Here It cost only $15.00 USD Maybe you can try making a mold out of wood. I saw this mold and almost bought it but then desided to maybe get it later and is really a simple mold to replicate. It's something you might want to think about! I would make one but it's so cheap here in the USA then I figure why bother.
Yeah, I don't either. I pour the cement first and then use the mold as a stamp. I can press it in as deep as I like and not have the grass growing up through.
+Abdullah Kolib If you check mine out - check out how I did the remaining side stones - I have a very different technique using cardboard to create the odds and ends stones that the mould cannot reach to create.
I like the grass coming through. A little green without a whole lawn to mow.

Perfektní. To se mi moc líbí. Ideální na chodníčky do zahrady.

This method is used for driveways into yards. That way you can still have a nice grassy yard not killed off by tire traffic.

very cool.... nice tapestry effect for an English garden ... but just on its own maybe to rustic for most tastes
Home Depot has them for 13.99 plus tax the color mix costs about 15.00 and it does about two molds worth it but time consuming
If you read back on this page down below? Someone suggests that this song is from: Jerome Isma Ae & Roy Stroebel - Vila nova.
muy bueno, siempre hay algo mas para aprender.

The crazy paving revival starts HERE!
Good product. Thanks for sharing.

i have those molds. the quickrete with fibreglass is best. looks much better with moss or creeping thyme growing in between the concrete.
What's more important. The whole ground isn't sealed off and rainwater can soak into the ground instead of running into the sewer or simply flooding the ground.
I have real pavers for over 10 years and I hate removing weed and moss never again stamp concrete only
Cindy, I would love to get even if one of those moulds...please advice how i can get one or where you bought them please?

With the grass coming through it looks very tacky. It doesn't look very aesthetically pleasing but that's just my opinion.
