    • The Final Spin - 2012 ...
Columbia, South Carolina - Alex Murdaugh, a prominent South Carolina lawyer and member of one of the state’s most powerful legal families, has found himself at the center of a mysterious and unfolding saga that has captivated the nation.
On June 7, 2021, Murdaugh reported that he had been shot in the head while changing a tire on the side of a rural road in Hampton County. He was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and survived the incident. The incident was initially believed to have been a random act of violence. However, as law enforcement began to investigate, they discovered a web of secrets, scandals, and alleged criminal activity.
The Murdaugh family has long been a fixture in the legal and political landscape of South Carolina. Alex’s father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all prominent attorneys in the state, and the family has deep ties to the local judiciary and law enforcement. Alex himself was a successful lawyer, representing clients in high-profile cases and serving as a partner at the law firm of Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth & Detrick.
In the wake of the shooting, rumors began to swirl that the incident may have been linked to a series of scandals that have plagued the Murdaugh family in recent years. The first blow came in 2019, when Alex’s son, Paul Murdaugh, was charged with boating under the influence causing death and three counts of boating under the influence causing great bodily injury after a fatal boat crash that claimed the lives of a 19-year-old woman and her boyfriend. Paul Murdaugh was awaiting trial at the time of his death.
Then, in September 2020, the Murdaugh family was hit with another tragedy when Alex’s wife, Maggie, and son, Paul, were found shot to death on the family’s hunting property in Colleton County. The murders remain unsolved, and law enforcement officials have provided little information about the case.
In the wake of the shooting of Alex Murdaugh, new details have emerged about the family’s troubled past. In early September, the law firm where Alex worked announced that he had resigned and was entering rehab for an opioid addiction. The announcement was made shortly after the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) launched an investigation into allegations that Alex had misappropriated millions of dollars in funds from the settlement of a wrongful death lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the estate of a 19-year-old man who was killed in a hit-and-run accident in 2019. Alex was representing the family in the case.
SLED has provided few details about the ongoing investigation, but the allegations have sent shockwaves through the legal community in South Carolina. In a statement released after Alex’s resignation, his former law firm said that they were “shocked and saddened” by the allegations and that they had hired an accounting firm to conduct an internal review of the firm’s finances.
As law enforcement officials continue to investigate the shooting and the allegations of misappropriation, Alex Murdaugh has remained largely out of the public eye. He has not made any public statements since the shooting and has reportedly been staying with family members in the weeks since the incident. However, he has retained a high-profile defense attorney and has said that he is cooperating with law enforcement officials.
The case has garnered national attention and has raised questions about the power and influence of South Carolina’s legal and political elite. In a state where the Murdaugh family has been a fixture for generations, the unfolding scandal has shaken the foundations of the legal community and has left many wondering what other secrets may be lurking beneath the surface.
As the investigation continues, the family’s many tragedies and scandals have become the subject of intense media scrutiny. The case

What those boys are learning out there on the range will be more useful to them than most of what they’re teaching in school these days. They are growing in confidence and common sense as well as learning that you have to work hard in life to reach your goals. That’s the same way I grew up on our dairy farm.

Just came across this on utube. I'm In NC, but as a youth, I lived in the SW corner of OK. Was always on a horse with a gang of neighboring kids! Our rural area was laid out in mile squares, but land so flat that we could yell to the kids on the opposite side of that mile square and they would saddle up after chores and we would take off. Parents never worried about us. In fact, my folks could whistle with their hands and we could hear them 2 miles away if the ever-present wind was blowing right! Remember days just such as this. Thank you for a full utube of watching you herding kids and allowing them to herd the "less than cooperative bovine! LOL I have enough memories to actually put myself in your place which allowed me to be in the saddle again, in the sun, eating the dust. You did an awesome job talking to the young men, right down to the youngest just like they were a working crew of cowboys for sure. (and they were) You are really a great dad and a wonderful videographer!!!!LOL

I am so proud of these boys. Congratulations Ridge on your first cattle drive with the big boys. You know, Ridge is very comfortable and competent working around horses and heading out on the range solo. So many other children his age still have dummy suckys stuck in their mouth , can’t put two sensible words together, and have little sense of nothing. Here’s Ridge, taking control of a large horse, following directions, paying attention and understanding everything happening around him. He talks up a storm, yahooing, and he’s larger than life. He has respect of his elder brothers who have comradeship with him. I love this family, and appreciate a hard working dirty face. Love you guys.

Haven’t gotten that opportunity yet and just don’t know how to start obviously under the circumstances of living under my parents roof lol! I wish my parents had this desire like me so they would support me and help guide me but I don’t have that. Although, my dad has owned horses in the past as he lived on a farm with some cows but that was so long ago. So enjoyable. I use to rough ride through the Michigan woods. Lots of miles on that horse. Miles makes the horse. She was a sturdily built paint 14.2 hands. In my 20's folks said she was too small for me and I sold her. Never should have done that...never had the time again with college and work to get those miles on a horse again. Now old and reflexes not good for putting miles on a horse. Still have one though...an ornament. Two Jan ago I rode him on trails I have in the woods and fell off. Not good on the frame of my bones. He wanted to go back, I didnt, and my mind was 50 feet ahead on the trail....I just wasn't mentally even thinking he would crow hop buck. That's part of not riding for a long time. What you know is just not there exactly when you need it to come back into the mind. Third little crow buck and I flew. Remember thinking" "I think this is the big one". Ended flat on my back and sure good I had a helmet on as my head was the last to hit and it hit hard. The body said, nope you ain't moving, and there I lay....until the sun went down a little bit and the ground wasn't warm. My pal brought the ATV over and I very slowly, stop and go, crawled up the mud rails on the front. Took months for that backside to begin working well again
Your video was real good...took me back to my own times riding a good horse for hours and hours and hours... Thank You.

Is there anything we can do to get you back on, watching you and your wife raise hardworking kids that know how to work and have fun with out their attention on a video game is great. They can think for themselves and will make great leaders when they grow up.

Miss you guys soooo much. I sincerely hope you are healthy and continuing doing what you love. I found great joy in watching your family ranch together, and I am sad and angry that crazy uninformed people need to impress their weird opinions. Ignore these people, they are just jealous and very needy. Be well, be happy and keep on ranching the way you do. Much love. Friends from Canada

Like turtle man used to say, live action right there, that ep had everything. Dam good viewing had everyone here in stitches watching those boys living their best life and cowboying up. Ridge on that horse was so cool, totally without fear, not sure about giving a 4yr old that croc Dundee knife though.

  • @cindydmysonslifemattered1937

Best life ever. These young men are having the best time of their lives. Reminds me of my Uncle Bud Linn, but for Uncle Bud, he had mostly girls. I learned from him, if you love what you're doing, you'll never "work" a day in your life. I can't remember ever working one day as a kid. I'll bet these boys may look back, and never remember the "work". Good job dad, and mom.

This was awesomeness overload! I am 69. Back in the mid/late 90s, I was into team penning (in Pennsylvania). I had a former heel horse (pretty chestnut with chrome) and later an older tri colored paint mare, also a heeler. Great horses for penning, HOWEVER, what I did and what you guys do are WORLDS APART. You are true team penners. Me? I just sort of played games on horseback with cows. Kudos to you and your seriously terrific family! I HAD to subscribe partly to get my team penning fix and partly because your vids are FUN! And my husband, totally not into horses or anything ranchy, sat mesmerized for the entire video. He LOVED it! Thanks a bunch!

That's some good teamwork. It's nice to see that Ridge got to help out. The jets were pretty cool too. I know they can be expensive but I think a nice drone would save you a lot of time finding cows and may even help heard them depending on how them wild ones react to it. Awesome video!

I don't know if I told you but I owned 3 horses for somewhere around 10 years, an Appaloosa gelding an Appaloosa mare and a palomino and white paint.
Did a lot of riding back then.

That was one ornery cow, but sissies horse stood in well and took the old cow to task, but I believe it was more to do with the man on the horse, than the horse under the man.
