    shapes.

    • @RocknRollSongbook
      @RocknRollSongbook  Před 9 dny

      That’s correct. 👍 Like this: czcams.com/video/QeM9VB0hFLw/video.htmlsi=1_WbRRFnMRv7zbBN
      This is an easy rhythm guitar version. Although, it is how Buddy’s rhythm guitarist, Niki Sullivan played it on the Ed Sullivan show.

    • @2011littlejohn1
      @2011littlejohn1 Před 9 dny +1

      @@RocknRollSongbook Yes. :) It makes it easier to play the intro and the solo by using E shapes. I struggled at first to play it using A shapes - I believe Hank Marvin, (according to Bruce Welsh) also found it harder in A but managed it of course. :) Then I found out about the capo and it was a piece of cake. The same thing applies to Well Alright in F#.

    I already know how to play the rythym style of "That'll be the Day" as I worked as a Buddy Holly impersonator. But this song is very week if you do not know and play the intrumental part at the beginning of this song. You really need to learn to play the into licks as this song is very empty without this. To bad you did not show or teach this instrumental beginning as I would have like to see this

      Hi David. I’ve never taught singing. I’m not really sure where I’d begin with that. But I’m flattered that you think I’m good enough. I’ve never been too confident about my own singing actually. It’s something I’ve had to work on over the years. I suppose I’d say: the more you sing, the better you’ll get. The voice uses muscles that need exercise. And also, pick songs that suit your singing range: there’s no point in struggling to sing in the key of the original record if the notes are out of your range. Most Buddy Holly songs suit my range, but I have to transpose most Elvis songs down.
