- Herzlichen Dank für über 1000 (Wieder-)Abonnenten! Zur Feier habe ich mich entschlossen eine neue Kamera anzuschaffen, um etwas bessere Qualität zu liefern. Bei diesem Video musste ich leider etwas improvisieren, ich hoffe es wird noch etwas besser ;)
Ich hoffe man merkt einen gewissen Unterschied. Die Rohdatei zu diesem Video hat übrigens 27GB.
Die Fahrt über die wunderschöne Tauernbahn geht von Tarviso Boscoverde über Villach, Spittal-Millstättersee, Mallnitz (Lokwechsel), Schwarzach-St.Veit, Bischofshofen, Salzburg bis Freilassing.

The cab ride over the wonderful Tauern line starts at Tarvisio Boscoverde (IT) over Villach (AT), Spittal-Millstättersee, Mallnitz (change of locomotive), Schwarzach-St.Veit, Bischofshofen, Salzburg (AT) to Freilassing (GER).

Bei der Einfahrt nach Schwarzach-St. Veit habe ich mich schon über die hohe Geschwindigkeit bei angekündigter Langsamfahrt gewundert. Und als ich dann die Einblendung gesehen habe, wurde mir klar, was gleich passiert wird. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht.
Aber allgemein ist das echt eine wunderschöne Strecke. Danke fürs Hochladen!

Breath taking scenery and a beautiful video. I don't think I would ever get fed up of seeing the mountains and little villages on this route. They look almost fairy tale like.

It seems to me the camera's focus is better, clearer, thank you for sharing, I think Austria is a beautiful country I'm not surprised that it produced so many great classical musicians.
Toll. Als Normalsterblichen ist einem ja eine Mitfahrt verwehrt (gerade die Tauernstrecke wäre ja ein Traum), so hat man wenigstens virtuell die Möglichkeit, danke :-)

Congratulations on the new camera- the image quality is quite good but, for me, it's kind of ruined by the fisheye distortion caused by the use of an extreme wide-angle lens; I would have preferred to witness this beautiful scenery and the speed of the train as it actually appears to the eye. Just my preferences but I still want to thank you for your efforts in making these train rides available to folks worldwide. Vielendank!

Ich wollte immer im PV arbeiten. Aber alle deine Videos sagen mir, dass ich doch zu Lokomotion gehen sollte!
Das ist sehr interessant. Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich Bad Gastein besucht und bin mit dem Zug nach Villach gefahren. (Ich bin mir nicht sicher, aber ich glaube, ich bin am Westbahnhof ausgestiegen). Es war eine sehr schöne Reise und obwohl der Zug im Video in die andere Richtung fuhr, war es immer noch sehr schön zu sehen. Mir wurde gesagt, dass es keine Möglichkeit gibt, mit dem Auto oder Bus zwischen den beiden Städten zu reisen, aber ich habe keine Ahnung.
Für das Auto gibt es die sogenannte Tauernschleuse

Great video, great views. I too wish we'd got the names of places as the stations were passed too quickly to read the signs, even on freeze-frame. But I saw Badgastein. I'd wondered why just that section was single-track, but now I see - the track uses very narrow ledges. I suppose that bottleneck is why they're extending the passing loop, with a new viaduct?

also erst mal glückwunsch zu 1037 abbos !!!! zugegeben, habe jetzt nicht das komplette video geschaut, aber was ich gesehen habe, schaut hammer aus. sowohl panorama und auch qualität. leider bekommt es youtube teilweise nicht hin, ein 1080p60 video so schnell zu laden, das es flüssig läuft, ohne nach zu laden.
habe eine 25K leitung, daran sollte es nicht liegen. naja, fakt ist, klasse kanal und video.......weiter so !!!! :))

Hello, thank you very much for sharing this video because sceenery is more then beutifull. I have few questions , from Badgastain are you constantly electricly breakeing (ED Brake) and adding pneumatic brake form time to time when its needed? Are you driving under ETCS 2 ? Is the dublletrack fully finished in 2019. or there is still one track in theese gorges?

Hello! No ETCS on this line, no. Only old School PZB. Yes, down the grade you have to use the pneumatic Brakes when the Train is heavy. There are no more plans for further extending the double track on the Tauern line as far as I know.
