Crafting some Bottle Openers

  • I used some wood cutoffs that I have planed already and used the
    Rocker Inset Bottle Openers
    www.rockler.com/rockler-inset...
    to create three nice looking bottle openers. They don't even look nice, they feel nice in your hands. I don't know the exact species of the wood I used for the two thick stripes. The inner smaller stripe is made out of padouk but I really don't know the species of the other wood.
    Maybe you can leave me a hint in the comments.

      The smaller bit I use is 1 1/8 inch in diameter: See the specs from Rockler for the Insert here: www.rockler.com/rockler-inset-bottle-openers-6-pack

    thank you for the video, I started making a few but my screws keeps breaking , what drill bit setup are you useing?

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před 22 dny

      What type of screws are you using? Brass ones? Then you have precut the thread with a steel screw. Otherwise I just drill a pilot hole hald a millimeter thinner than the diameter of the screw including the thread measured with calipers. I never broke a screw.

    Hallo, sieht cool aus! Welchen Durchmesser hat der kleinere Forstnerbohrer?

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před 4 měsíci

      Laut Rockler: www.rockler.com/rockler-inset-bottle-openers-6-pack soll der grosse 2 Inch und der kleinere Forstnerbohrer 1 1/8 Inch gross sein. ~29mm.

    What is the backstory on the logo discs? I think they look very cool. Can you share the details on them?

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před 2 lety +4

      Hello Patrick, of course I can share the details of those stainless steel laster engraved logo plates/coins/... They are laser engraved 20mm stainless steel logos. I've seen them originally from on a German CZcamsrs channel called "Andys Werkstatt". I ordered them from Lasergravuren Engelmann in Germany: www.lasergravur-engelmann.de They are not cheap but since I use them only rarely on special pieces that's fine. Hope that is helpful, Michael

    What the metal logo you added to the top side? Where do you get them from?

      Hello Todd, that is a logo coin out from stainless steel with my logo laser engraved to it. I got that from a company in Germany. I don’t know if that helps. The website can be found using the following URL: www.engelmann-werbung.de/lasergravur-engelmann/

    Where do you order those logo coin looking things? I can’t find them or know their proper nameB

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před rokem

      I did order them in germany using this website: www.lasergravur-engelmann.de It‘s laser engraved on a stainless steel coin. The name is possibly laser engraved logo coin? I‘ve seen it on another diy youtube channel and asked the same question and landed at the website from Engelmann. Hope that helps.

    What router bit did you use for the roundover?

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před rokem +1

      I used a 6mm roundover bit to achieve the roundover on the bottle openers.

    Hi what's the dimensions please. Sorry if I've missed it in tbe video

    • @MKWoodworking
      @MKWoodworking  Před rokem +1

      The size of the bottle opener is 160mm length, on the top where the metal insert is to open the bottle it has a width of 55mm and the thickness is 20mm. Sorry I can only provide metric measurements I'm not that familiar with imperial measurements :-)
