I'm a Puerto Rican American that never really got to experience my heritage. This was beautiful and brought me to tears.
This is the most important band of my life and musical journey. They were there for me when I was a young teenager into my adulthood and I've been waiting 10 years for this.

I live in a coastal city here in Brazil, and I participate in some audiovisual projects that work with the native culture of the Caiçaras and the pre-existing indigenous life, which is erased in such a way that there is a constant and daily struggle to preserve this life, this history and these customs. To see a work like this, so well executed, so respectful, so visceral... I don't even have words to describe how much I'm feeling right now 🖤
It's great to see a band so in touch with their roots be as popular as they are. Makes me want to express my own roots in my music

So good. Been growing on me more and more.
I believe the song and album is about a science fiction horror movie/thriller where the spaceship has been lost and somehow trapped in a vortex of time and this is a glimpse of the main character travelling back in time and but getting trapped in the vortex but the inner will to live keeps on drumming and eventually drives the main character to repair the spaceship and travel back into the future, which will then be the now. Have to research the comicbook that ships with the record to be 100% sure but it's my interpretation for now. Welcome back Mars Volta!

Despite living with my Puerto Rican mom most of my life I was never really exposed to the culture growing up in MA but like, getting into The Mars Volta who are so unabashedly Puerto Rican makes me feel at least a little bit in touch with my heritage.

And it's so awesome to see the guys in their most glorious accomplished format again - back as TMV, with some old faces and new ones 😊 ATDI is a monster band, huge rock sounds, Antemasque was a fantastic return after the hiatus, but this is Omar and Ceddy where they belong - kicking it in TMV, the best prog band of the last 30 years!

STFU with that bullshit. Juan is my alltime favourite bass player but he's got his own personal stuff to deal with, as well as his touring commitments

Siento como si fuera ayer cuando llegue a casa de mi primo y estaba en su computadora, me dijo que escuchara lo que tenia en sus audífonos, era Mars Volta, desde ese momento me enamore de la banda y la sigo escuchando 11 años después
Me identifico totalmente con algo como lo que compartes, mi primera experiencia fue escuchar "The Widow" en la radio y quedé desconcertado. Después mi hermano menor me contó acerca de su primer álbum después de haberlo escuchado completo y me dijo que: tocaban bien chingon. El resto es historia. Seguidor de la banda hasta el día que muera.

I discovered the Volta after they had already disbanded but have to say the first 3 albums are some or my favorite. I have longed for them to reunite and dreamt that possibly I could see them live one day... The dream maybe coming true! I don't think I've ever been so excited for a band!

Ever since the day you were born sounds so fascinating. I'm 33 and got introduced to them at 13 and it blew my mind at that age, can't imagine being raised with them!! Absolutely magical.
@@kiarisolrivera701 it’s been amazing, 22 years going on 23 of Volta, growing up on De-loused, amputechture, bedlam in Goliath and I still remember when octahedron came out, some of my best and favorite moments In life have been watching my dad go crazy on drum solos singing every lyric to songs I loved but could barely understand yet he knows every word, my dad has seen them countless times growing up on Volta is the biggest blessing other than life my dad has given me it’s been absolutely amazing.

@@miguelpayran9509 Está difícil bro. El no salió en buenos terminos de la banda y al igual que John Theodore, ya dijeron hace unos meses cuando anunciaron su regreso que no habría ninguna reunión con ex miembros.
Solo queda disfrutar el bonito material que su periodo entregó.
