    I dream that one day companies will develop biodegradeable fishing line, to replace the mono that all off use lose every time we fish a beach or rock mark.
    Shame that eels die when they’re deep hooked 90% of the time according to studies. I’ve had great results with the globe-end deep hook disgorger where the tip of the hook, clicks into a void and allows you to get the hooks out even when they’re in the stomach and save the fishes life.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes over sized hooks , barbless also effective at times. I did research biodegradable line there was a company that did it but that was years ago. Personally I think we should all take home more than we loose. A simple net gain in recovering plastics if you loose two rigs and a lure you can do your bit by finding even more rubbish. Thanks for your comments I think there’s a lot of agreement in what your saying

    • @seeitpickitbinit2510

      @@SaltwaterAngler agreed, that’s the best exact philosophy of our litter group, seeitpickitbinit (brandsthatcreatelitter on Instagram), we say ‘leave it better than you found it’. Every time I fish, I also litter pick, sometimes in a small boat, when I can clear line and floats from trees and pick up floating and submerged plastic. If I do lose tackle, I know I’ve removed more than I have left. Thanks for the great vid, you are one of the really good anglers who are showing leadership in the sport💪😛🤣❤️🐟🐟🐟

    On the 4oz bass rod with your 20 1b mono mainline do you use shock leader or don’t you need it as I never used it and told I have to use it plz also what size reel is the biggest I can use. With 20 1b mono line for bass and cod beach fishing please

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  Před 3 lety +2

      Generally you should use a shock leader it serves the purpose of stopping snap offs from casting. It also helps with abrasion on rocks. However I do t use it when I am using really light weight under 3oz and lobbing a bait close in. Personally I’d consider 50lb plus braid straight through.with 20lb mono you can use big capacity fixed spool o multipliers . Personally when fishing heavy I prefer a multiplier.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  Před 3 lety +1

    Had a load of rattles that didn't come to anything all through a session last week in the Bristol Channel. Assumed something too small to get size 4 hooks in mouth properly and, lo and behold, I finally wound in a 2" whiting - the smallest fish I've ever caught in the sea! Went back the next day and took a stinger-like rig with a plan to leave source of the rattles out there and wait for a big Bass to scoff the lot. First part of the plan worked when I wound in to find a tiddler on the stinger hook. Another first - smallest ever Bass! Sadly, part 2 of the plan didn't happen and no bigger predator came along.

    • @SaltwaterAngler
      @SaltwaterAngler  Před 3 lety

      Ha I liked reading that I often try a small size 4 tied tight to a 5/0 hook in these situations so the live bait stays out there and a bass looks the lot. It’s only worked once for me but got a 4lb bass and never knew what the small fish was
