This is good character development for Toby
Can we talk about Cleo's character growth in this scene?! The way she stood up to him and told him she's not his Cleopatra, and how she and Toby locked him in to expose his recent doings! She's no longer the same girl that she was back in 2015! Sure she went to alcohol, drugs and developed bulimia as a result of her trauma, but after going through all that, she still faced him and she is a strong woman!
Nadine and Kai portrayed this performance brilliantly! They both deserve an award!

I knew Pete wouldn’t change, he is literally sick and I was proper cheering for Cleo tonight, so glad she finally stood up to him.
Tonight’s episode was for me honestly the best we’ve had so far this year as it’s been mostly cringe a lot this year for me but tonight’s episode truly had me sobbing.

@@emmasquires6598 That doesn't mean it's not possible, they can but at the same time they can't because they're either not ready to or too embrace by darkness. Evil doesn't change in a blink of a eye and they definitely can't stay evil forever even if a human lived for a century.
Pete almost had me there till Cleo saw all of the signs that he's hasn't change at all. I'm glad Oliver getting the help he needs and that was a great moment of him bonding with his dad. Luke deserves a award for the best dad on the planet. I'm sure Mandy can redeem herself and I would done the same thing Cindy did by letting Mandy stay. That was a prefect moment between Cindy Luke and Oliver. Overall that was very moving episode that touched me. Also I think Toby let Peter go by leaving him a deadly warning saying he better not ever see him anywhere in the village or in Cleo's life.

I gotta give major kudos to the actor that plays Pete he does an amazing job, in that he really creeps me TF out. Which I guess is the idea given what he is!!! Him calling Cleo Cleopatra was the red flag for me. He hasn't changed at all. Poor poor Cleo. She really has been through so much because of this vile man. She's a brave girl! Luke and Ollie's relationship is one of my favourite things on the show and Ollie is such a great kid so I really hope he gets the help he needs. Seeing Luke struggling is really sad. I really would love if there was a cure for this horrible disease he has. I really don't want him to die. I wonder if they are progressing with this storyline from here on in. It's going to be heartbreaking. I have always loved scenes with Mandy and Cindy so it's nice to see them building bridges. The both of them have really been through some horrible stuff also. I vaguely recall the stuff with Mandy's dad back in 1990's and being heartbroken for her. It just goes to show that something like that never really leaves you. Also I think anyone on this show can redeem themselves and be forgiven and I believe Mandy is no exception. In saying that one of the first things she needs to do is apologize to Charlie and everyone else she has hurt. That would be my top priority if I was her. I don't think she is a bad person at all. She just made some terrible choices and made what was already a bad situation even worse. By trying to protect Ella she actually ended up hurting her and everyone else she loves, which is kind of ironic if you think about it :(. I agree with you about it being a very moving episode. This is the Hollyoaks I know and love. I really enjoyed it a lot.
I like how Toby didn’t let Pete get away. I feel like he killed him or just beat him up. This reminds me of the time when Felix confronted Cormac and the episode ended with Warren beating him up.

I have to admit, it did feel a bit like a waste to bring Pete back just to get him killed. I loved Kai Owen's performance over the years, he really captured the thought process of sexual abusers.

I’ve seen a lot of hate towards Cleo and don’t you think this is the reason she’s messed up and many more things like multiple deaths in the family. This type of stuff can mess up a child’s head, she was a child.

This Keysor Souze (from the movie the Usual Suspects) thing worked better with Brendan being questioned about his past, then here, where we don`t get a full story, just some names. But the movie the Usual Suspects, and Kevin Spacey as Keysor Souze, did it the best - an entire movie told as a police statement with clues from inside a police detective`s office. Well deserved Oscar for both the script and Kevin Spacey.

In real life, however, it is routine work to help all types of abusers and aggressive/violent people work through their issues and help them develop techniques to control their anger or urges, and give them the confidence to master life - and with a bigger success rate than to rehabilitate drug addicts or alcoholics. Fewer of those having undergone treatment reoffend, than there are people who fall off the wagon to either drink or drugs.
