    HP if I had watched this 30 years ago I'd be dead from drugs and fast women. Luckily I'm now middle-aged and finally have the desire to learn to play properly. Thankyou for giving me the push-start I needed! Great tutorial... even if you have moved on since recording it.

    @thirdworldrider6991 Před 4 lety

    Thanks. So I think the hardest thing the first hurdle is learning to be melodic with one shape basic, basic melodies. Not speed or advanced shredding, but go slow and melodic. And learn the basic shape which can transpose to any key and where the root notes are depending on key. Then as you advance in speed and knowing the scale you learn more shapes and moving up and into different shapes as you play to give your more octave melodic possibilities. Correct? Mini steps not trying to do too much like learn Ionian aeolian phrygian etc..

  • @johanson321
    @johanson321 Před 5 lety

    I'm trying to get a Strat to sound like that. I'm using plenty of metal-reverb-delay settings, but getting beefier/bulkier sound. Your Les Paul has a "lighter" buzz to it. I'm getting plenty of distortion, but too "heavy"-ish. Is that peculiar to the Strat, or should I keep working on the settings? I'm using a Fender amp on "metal" setting, almost full gain....

    • @Hpcrazy
      @Hpcrazy  Před 5 lety

      A Strat with a Fender Amp are not really the best setup for a fulldistortion sound. At least the amp has to be a different one of with a good distortion pedal.
