You do so much in getting the RR known. I wish the company would send you a pro version to test and maybe keep. it would only only herlp them out by spreading the word.
Thanks man! I would love to have the RR Pro I could make a lot of videos with it. Maybe one of these days I'll see if they want to work together
Great review and thank you for the shout out man!
Thanks Steve! & Anytime man
Most annoying part about finding a commute PEV Is the water proof aspect. Even the ones that are will rust where it is the most important.
Been thinking about buying another one. Just need it in my life again. Was so good to me.
What do you like most about it? I love mine too but after owning a bike like the TalariaXXX its hard to ride a hard tail bike like the RR again. That being said, I'm still keeping my RR for short trips. Thanks for watching!
I have the SE. It came doing maybe 13.5mph but after I disconnected the single little black jumper wire after removing the seat for access, it goes 23mph. You might want to see if yours has this and try it.
You need the New and improved EMOVE RoadRunner Pro Electric Scooter for only $2600 55+ MPH OH YEAH !!!!!!!!!
good video man, I got my roadrunner like a week ago but I'm liking it, when you switched your brakes what did you do with the motor sensor wires on the stock levers? will it run fine if you take those out?
Thanks man! When I switched the brakes out, I just left the motor sensor wires unplugged bc my new brakes were not compatible. That's why my cables look so messy in the front.
So I lost the brake light function but my brakes are 10x better. I think you could solder the motor sensor wires to the new brakes but that's not something I could do on my own.
Thanks for being so honest and thorough. I’m considering getting the V2, so I wanna know what to expect from the RR.
Its a great vehicle, but pretty soon after you buy it you'll want to change the brakes. That's probably the only major upgrade you need for it. This bike shines when you need something small & compact to get around in dense city areas. Its a very fun vehicle
@@StuartGrand How mechanically-inclined does one need to be to change the brakes? And if I were to take it to an LBS that does work on e-bikes (and I’m assuming e-scoots), how much might that cost? I’m also in the Greater LA area, so whatever cost estimate you quote would be accurate for me, as well.
I was able to replace my brakes & I have a pretty low level of knowledge mechanically. Took me about 2-3 hours. A bike shop might charge more than $50-100 for install. Since you're in the LA area you could hit up Yogi Steve (Electric Scooter Academy) he does brake work on PEV's & is in the Hollywood area.
@@StuartGrand Ok, so I’ll look into what the process involves. I’m semi-handy, but if it’s super-technical (i.e., lots of little parts), I may outsource it. I can handle things like IKEA furniture assembly & minor home repairs, but plumbing, for example, is too much for me-I tend to wanna intuit an assembly or install, and have a hard time reading instructions at a really detailed level, but if there’s a VIDEO that shows the entire process from beginning to end, then maybe I can pull it off.
I’m in the 562 area, and don’t have any regular reason to get out to Hollywood, but I’ll shout you out if I end up needing Yogi Steve’s help.
Oh ok so you would probably be able to do this then. I used this video to help guide me czcams.com/video/i1BUBc1c8r8/video.html
Btw you may lose the function of your brake lights when installing hydraulic brakes. But the better braking system is worth it IMO.
Great video! Woodman & Roscoe. I have the V2 but thinking of upgrading the lights and a bit more power. I just don’t know any shop in LA that can help with upgrading.
Thanks for watching! You might have to find someone who works on PEV's independently. If you ask around on facebook forums someone should be able to help you.
I have the SE. It came doing maybe 13.5mph but after I disconnected the single little black jumper wire after removing the seat for access, it goes 23mph. You might want to see if yours has this and try it.
I have a question:
I’m a Emove RoadRunner V2 rider and really appreciate your videos on RRs, my question is, do you have any videos that explain the Display and what the buttons exactly do? Also how do I tell how many miles I’ve ridden so far???
Thanks! I don't have any videos explaining the buttons but to get the odometer, after the scooter is powered on, hold the 'm' button until it shows 'odo.' Hold the m button to get back to the trip meter. Check out this forum for RR riders facebook.com/groups/702615157371225/
Exactly this bike is so fun and almost goes 40Mph ❤
Thanks for watching!
Hey where did you get that mirror thats on your roadrunner from? I ride my roadrunner in NYC one of those are necessary.
These were from amazon but they were a gift so I'm not sure what brand it is. Also, these have been very sturdy and have actually saved my handlebars from fall damage
@@StuartGrand Thanks! Would you say upgrading the pegs is worth? The stock pegs suck.
No Problem. & Yes upgrading the pegs is worth it. I bought upgraded red pegs from voro & they were a little pricey ($30) but it makes a huge difference
That's a good video and review! Why don't put the manufacturers not right away the right stuff, like hydraulic disc brakes, a waterproof system, better tires... and so on? It would be a little pricier, but still not too much.
Thank you! & I agree, I personally would pay 10-15% more for this bike if they included all of those things. The bike would not need any mods out of the box like that. I imagine the hardest thing to improve on the bike (from manufacturing) would be the waterproofing, but the brakes should be an easy switch for them
Is there a way to unlock full speed or is it always the same
For more speed than 35 mph you would probably need to upgrade the motors, controllers, &/or battery
Thank you for this, I am stuck between this and the Ausom Gallop, both are similarly priced, this has that wonderful seat, the Gallop has a higher top end speed, far stronger acceleration and torque, and a more planted ride less likely to wipe out in turns at higher speeds, I really like the idea of a seat but the dual suspension on the Gallop looks like riding on a cloud, as where I can hear every pebble you roll over in your voice on the Roadrunner, it's really a tough call, especially when i have owned several gas powered minibikes just like the Roadrunner and have never even ridden a scooter, but it looks fun enough to give a shot 🥹
Wow thanks for pointing that out- I didn't even think about how the rough ride quality affected my voice. Hmm it seems like the RR would only be superior in portability and its slightly bigger battery (& as you mentioned being in a seated position). The gallop sounds like an awesome scooter for the price but I would definitely want to check out the quality of the parts & how easy or difficult maintenance would be. Seems like there's a good amount of review videos on this so that's a good sign.
Thanks for watching!
@@StuartGrand from what I understand the build quality on the Gallop is top notch compared to other scooters in the same price range, the Roadrunner feels like a work in progress, constantly room for improvement, but they seem to be narrowing down the issues by focusing on customer feedback, which bodes well for future models, they just need to get rear suspension, a hair more torque, and some geometric adjustments to avoid wiping out so easily on it
How fast were you riding here?
Around 25-28 mph
Throw some balance beads in there
Might have to give this a try. I didn't even know balance beads existed lol
Hey Stuart Grand. Would you sell me your seat once you upgrade, please let me know. Thanks
Sure but I am not sure when I'll replace the seat yet. Might be a few months
@@StuartGrand that's cool. I could buy the seat off you now so you can get the new v2 seat sooner if you like. Just an option for you.
How much range do you get on this bike?
I get about 30 miles in dual motor mode 3
I got 1600 miles on mine
Im close to 2000 miles on
I’m guessing you can’t go up curbs with it right ?
Right. But its so light that you can pick it up over the curb really easily
