Who doesn't love watching a good tradie doing some work outside? Even better when he has something interesting to say. Are you still enjoying running your own show? Would you go back to hiring employees again? Would you prefer to be working for someone else? How's the stress level these days? Still so many things we need to know. Thanks for your uploads Ty. I find you easy, interesting watching on my other screen whilst I am doing my work. For instance right now I'm listing stuff on Ebay.
Honestly one of the neatest brickies I've seen in oz as most of them seem to render the wall while laying the bricks at the same time. Fair play to you though mate, this is hard going working by yourself and still getting those numbers down. Very enjoyable watch seeing how it's done differently all the way around the world
A proportion of the brickwork you see done in Australia is done with render bricks that will be rendered with sand and cement plaster . Might account for some of the dirty brickwork you see .
Thanks for the kind words
@@brickbybric exactly.. also the absolute roughest bricklayers I have ever seen and worked with were poms, unbelievably bad
Keep the videos coming mate. Great to see ya back in action
Thanks for that, the support means a lot
The brickwork looks amazing, Ty. Keep up the good work.👍
Love these mate but would also love more detail on setting profiles n that
I've got a profile setting video on my channel!
your work speaks for itself . perfect
Love the content as always mate. Personally I work in an office so I enjoy watching what you do during the day. Just wing it, I am sure a lot of us will like it.
Thanks for your insight!
Ur a good guy ty
Would be good to see an update on the financial/money side of bricklaying. Great vid Ty!
Thanks for that!
Pick and dip trial and comparison maybe? The lime/mix was interesting too.
I may have missed the boat on that one
@@bricksbyty missed the boat?

Beautiful laying mate. Do you increase cement strength a bit when using colour? I use to increase it by about 10 or 20%. The liquid oxide use to weaken the mix, especially the liquid black damproof. Powder oxide seems to also weaken it a bit but I’ve never done any type of testing. 5:1 should be strong enough with colour but 6:1 could turn out a bit weak over time, especially on footings below the damp course.
I have heard of some bricklayers changing the ratio to retain the strength of the mortar so hearing this does reinforce that idea. Thanks!
@@bricksbyty Oxide is dependent on the ratio of oxide / cement by weight. Stay within the recommended ratio and it should be ok. So if a darker mix is needed then the cement increases to maintain that oxide / cement weight ratio. The oxide brand should have that ratio on the label or online.
Though I would still add some extra cement if used on a brick footing below the damp course. 99% of houses now are on slabs so brick footings are not very common.
well done bro,.Balance,.
Theres your 200th like mate
Ty what do you do on your days off
Might have to cover this in a new video
Can I work with you?
I'm not looking for workers atm!
Get a new trowel lol that’s about the size of a spoon
If you scroll down the comments I actually mention this
