Very original design. I find the side without the drill to be very long. What is benefits of the micro adjustment being that long? Just trying to reduce the size for easier storage.
Although some components are sufficiently robust, many of them cannot withstand excessive loads, i.e. the sliding part that moves the tailstock is dramatically weak, (and why are the vertical walls inclined? Your resistance to bending will worsen! It's the lever principle!!! make them vertical and add additional ribs!) as well as boards of modest thickness perforated with a diameter very close to their thickness. This weakness could cause the part being worked to detach and cause serious personal injury, but only if the device does not catch fire first: you are using a hand drill, designed for intermittent use in a ventilated environment, in a tiny closed environment and in continuous service . The tailstock adjustment has excessive play, which can cause the workpiece to be unbalanced.... and the centrifugal force will take care of the rest... Do you have any idea that lathes almost always throw detached pieces into your face? I hope no one emulates the construction of the tool as you conceived it: it's dangerous! I'm sorry, but I came across your video by chance, and I can't allow the disclosure of dangerous objects just to earn a few bucks on the platform. People's health is more important. In Italy we have a brain-dead 10-year-old girl in a deep coma after attempting an infamous choking challenge seen on another platform (t*k-t*k). It's time we all take an active part in stopping and countering the dissemination of potentially harmful material.
Very nice, But I did not notice any air vent holes in the headstock cover so the drill does not get overheated. I the drill gets overheated and the smoke gets out you will need new drill windings!
Interesting built. My only concerns are your fingers. Don't wear gloves on rotating machines!!! This is so dangerous. Once a tooth from Sawblade or a Drillbit catches a part of the Gloves, they will pull your fingers or hand inside of the Tools. But what I like is the Design and easy build.
