What does the the r terminal do with the pulsing 25vdc?

A freq or speed reading that the monitor looks for even the new machines look for this freq coming off the alternator

Gday mate,
I’m diagnosing a fault with my Cat 242B3 skid. Batt light is on and battery went flat. I’m expecting a bad alternator but will check voltages, battery etc. Thanks for taking the time to make and put up this vid. Nice to have a better understanding of what is going on.

I have the same machine and it is charging fine, but have the flashing light in the cab. This circuit seems to not be working? What should the signal be on the R terminal?

Figured out our charging issue. Distributor sent out a 12vdc unit. Dead batteries were still an issue. Found there to be a bad diode in the kick panel below the controls
