+oliverm5sc Thanks for the feed back. I tend to agree with you regarding the 020t/200t/201t saws, but I went into this project expecting the 020t to be the fastest. I was even more surprised when the cs330t came out ahead of the cs360t. I own all three saws and also a Husky 338 top-handle. I prefer the Echos and they get a lot of use.
Yeah I got cs 350t it rips chips, Mexico model# picked up the echo srm 4605 brushcutter also very good; pops got stihl 450 brushcutter, the echo work great all day long.
I haven't tried a the new echo top handles yet, may never need too. All three of the saws, the echos and the stihl are in my fleet and I almost always grab an echo instead of the stihl, even though the stihl is and 020t and considered by most to be superior to the 200t. I also have a Husky 338t but i find it to be clumsy and tiring in a tree. what's the displacement on the echo brushcutter. I use a stihl fs350 which kicks butt.
I've got a SRM410u that's 42cc IIRC. It's the only stock piece of OPE I own, and it's plenty powerful and responsive without being modded. Great brush cutter!
richard- thanks for the feedback. it's been a few summers since i made this vid so i went back, carefully watched the whole thing. don't know how you came to the idea that the stihl's chain was "crazy loose." before making the vide i made fresh loops for each of the three saws from my roll of carlton low profile chain. all three saws were carefully adjusted, not too tight to rob power but tight enough to last for a while. you may know that new chains do loosen up quickly for the first hour of run time. but all three were adjusted to the same spec. looking at the vid, all three are adjusted perfectly.
Dan- I've waited a few weeks to respond to your post. First, I've been using the 330/360t's since the first year they hit the market and I don't recall any that lacked the catalytic converter. I'm wondering if you have them confused with the cs341t, which is the descendent of the 3400t, redesigned for e.p.a. and c.a.r.b. compliance. Likening the cs330t to a "turd" is just doesn't make sense. My video demonstrates that they are very good saws. They are good for orchard type pruning and in the canopy. Everyone is different, but i prefer them to the stihl and husky top handles. At present I have three. One is a totally stock, cat equipped, 360t and it runs just as well as the muffler-mod ones.
About time we see some vids comparing the over hyped Stihl 020t 200t saws, good job

I gutted and opened the muffler way up on my 330T and it is like twice the saw now. Sounds mean and WAY more power.
I've tried muffler mods on the Echo 330t and 360t but I haven't been able to measure any significant improvement.
The chain on the Stihl is crazy loose...
richard-

That 330t echo may have an earlier non-catalytic muffler. The new ones are complete turds
355T's are coming without cats now. I'll find out for sure next week when mine comes in. If it has a cat, it won't for long!

MM- I've always wanted to try fiting a cs355t muffler to a 360 or 330. They look like they might fit.
I've seen numerous mentions that the 330, 355, and 360 share the same engine housing, so that's a definite possibility for you.
In believe that there is a non US version without a cat. I gutted mine, made a huge difference.
