at least this has audio jack
IdealBat And usb a ports
And it's very thicc
iPad has them too..
This is not a DIY phone
he's just making a joke man haha
IdealBat i dont get it
Thanks for checking out the video!
nice but it would be a lots slimmer if someone made a kit compatible with the dim slot type rpi3...
What is the battery life on this when running Raspbian?
I haven't tested, but I'm guessing around 5 hours
Thanks for that. By that logic, the pi top I'm creating will last 17 hours.
Electronic Grenade for sale?
I love how you took time and effort into this project, I subbed!
Same
I’m thinking the person on top me liked there own comment then @digitechV2 like ur comment to and then I liked it
Not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you're bored like me atm you can stream all the new series on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my gf during the lockdown :)
@Justus Jaxx definitely, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for months myself :D
@@justusjaxx1238 nvm
Your problem solving is impressive, especially with the power button and a massive thankyou to bang good for the extra screen. They saved the day 😄.
This really helped me out!
First, I know some stuff to buy for my own tablet.
Second, I now know how to get Android on my Raspberry Pi
How refreshing to see a guy who admits and points out his mistakes!
Your soldering skills is amazing
Great job! My only question is couldn't you have included all of the holes you made (headphone jack, SD Card slot with a stopper, power slot, etc) into the 3D print design to have them perfect? I am liking the double battery! What version of Android are you running on it?
Theoretically, yes, but no 3D printer is perfect, and since I have a very cheap 3D printer, my prints get more warped and flawed than most prints from nicer 3D printers. And since I use a ruler to measure each component, than I usually get the measurements slightly wrong, so the holes I make in the case are either too large, or too small.
I am running Android 7.1. Here's the link to the website I got the OS from. rtandroid.embedded.rwth-aachen.de/downloads/raspberry-pi/
Keep the hard work and never give up I support you.
That's cool as hell, you could load different operating systems and make it as rugged as you want, and change the color. Even some USB A ports!
This is a really cool pi idea. You should use heat shrink and thin double sided mounting ape next time to clean it up abit :) great video!
Really nice video and project !!
This is amazing!
Dude this channel is the best
Amazing 👍 I will surely try out . Thank you brother
Wow! Super Tablet!
I have always wanted to see someone slim down a pie. This is so cool
The cables turn me off completely.
But impressive work
Awesome! Great job
Apple: we are removing headphone jacks to be able to make more money oh sorry to put bigger and better components
Some guy in his shed: makes tablet that has all the features that Apple will only add if people say that they will buy phones for life
I had this idea while in class I want to try it so bad
Nice work man....👌👌
FYI - regarding your issue with using a power switch and the powerboost. I ran into the same issue when I used an old NES case and wanted to reuse the power switch on the front of the console. I ended up wiring the power switch to the battery before the power boost so pushing the power button in allows the battery to connect to the power boost. Button out, kills connection.
Amazing job like always ! :)
Where can I buy this Nokia ?
Why are you so underrated? Like only 32k subs? You deserve 20mil!
Dont worry 70k hes getting better and better!!!!!!
You could’ve done that with the housing that is premade for that screen 🤔
Holy fire waiting to happen!
this is a very impressive project I did indeed like it although I am a stickler for perfection and I think the wire management in side could be done nicer as well as the whole you cut out in the back for the Raspberry Pi MicroSD slot looks a little janky and then the only other thing is your screen is glued in slightly crooked if those things were addressed it would be absolutely perfect but none the less very nice job my friend
Hello! Nice build! You are very smart and risky!
Can you please make another video describing the software process in greater detail, or put it in your video about a phone if you make it? Btw I love ur Chanel and really support what you are doing, you are the first person ever to do this and document it to help noobs like me to do the same!
Wow your so smart nice job :) and i subscribed
You are a bloody genius. I wish I could make and do something like this ;-;
Is it possible to make something smaller (phone) from raspberry pi? Just without calls.
I've actually been thinking about this ever since I made my tablet, and I think that it's possible. It might be a bit tricky to get the smaller screen configured with android (If that's the os you were thinking of), but I think it can be done. I would love to make a raspberry pi android "phone" sometime in the future.
I think that all you have to do is get smaller components. Everything can be minimised and it can fit in maybe. Or you could just stick to the tablet and claim it is the Samsung Galaxy 100 and say they rejected the infinity display and stuck to that screen and just made it fatter.
Anyways thanks for replying. You gained yourself a loyal subscriber. Notifications on too. ;)
I can't wait to see what you will come up with next time!
Great Quality Content.
Sketch It D.I.Y Seeing as it is using Raspberry Pi, I assumed that it couldn't call. But I might be wrong. I'm not too sure.
Sketch It D.I.Y That's the point of the challenge. Minimising everything and getting it to become a smaller phone. That would be quite amazing. Imagine a Samsung galaxy s8 with Raspberry Pi. That would be mental.
Phone's can be made atm but there really fat.
dude, you're great.
Wow, just Wow!
I don't know why I love to watch your channel even I don't know how to make it for my self😂.I really want that tablet 😭.
Edit:I still watching and comments even it's upload 3 years ago lol
Hey! I remember watching this video in 2019 when I was a kid. I became so obsessed with this Raspberry Pi, Windows 10 and even making my own laptop and tablet at home in late 2019 but I gave up on the thought. A lot has changed today 2024. I'm a CZcamsr now
WOAAAH ITS SOOO COOL
Great job. Any recomendations for a bigger (11ish inch) screen?
You deserve More subscribers! Your content is Awesome!
cool project!!
Really nice project. Now I'm planning on making a 13.3 inch tablet LOL
Genius man he could start a business off this
*Whoa!* I will try to make tablets... I will name it as *Scarlet Tab*
I've always wanted to do this
Same Im probably gonna make a game boy advanced with a raspberry pi 3 or 0w
Woah cool!
Portable tablet with retro pi? I smell a new project in the air
Shouldn't you make hole on the housing so It has airflow? Even it was a low power device but it still run warmer and warmer overtime right?
This is a good solution if you're gonna be getting an Android tablet that supports the security patches
I like the swich XD
HES SO GOOD
How are both batteries getting charged from 1 powerboost? Have you got an alert on the screen when the battery is low or a battery level?
Someone gave me one of these, but it comes with a beeping countdown. How can I turn that off?
Out of all the NES Classic mods, and other things done with a Raspberry Pi, I've never seen a tablet made from one.
I don't understand the part of installing the battery board. Did you use the power boost 1000 and the other battery board or only one of them.
Please help me because I want to build such a tablet too.
Sorry for my bad english😅
What about the software side? You put all the hardware together.. now how do you configure the software? Could you please help
This is dope
Way to go buddy
Great work but I gotta say it... DANG BOI THATS THICC
your are best bro
Your the best
U got skillz
How are u not over 10m subs
Nice job
I'm looking for a portable media project. I just need an expandable hige storage so minimum 1tb ,a screen , and battery. I just need it for movies. Does such a project exist?
This looks super cool and I wanted to make a raspbery pi laptop or tablet with a battery bank for a phone or something so it has charge but I was wondering if this is better then a cheap Amazon Kindle or Android tablet, etc.
Can you make a video on how to write Android OS on SD card for the Raspberry PI
HOW much cost we need to have all of the parts?
You are makeng it lok like its so easy
Good in tablet perfect
Hey my question is does it include Bluetooth 5.0?
You could use a Raspberry Pi Zero to make your tablet thin, light and streamlined
Hi Buddy, I wish to know, the maximum and min, Screen resolution that this raspberry pi 3 (or latest mother RP3+B board) will be capable of supporting ......
how can it differentiate that the screen is not a monitor and a tab screen or what if i use a mobile phone screen ......
android is absolutey horrible on rpi. why not use one of the many maker boards that run android well like odroids or orange pis?
Greg Auletta or a banana pi, which actually offer two small pads where you can connect a li-ion battery
Fitting the board could be a problem though, but the performance would be great.
Cool!
Just so yall know, this is the same guy who made the rideable Minecraft Pig
Could you do an in-depth tutorial on how to make one of these?????
amazing o.O
Make a video on wiring setups
But can it run 3d pinball space cadet
You can give me the defective screen? I want to mess around with it
Did you use the 3D printer you made for this project?
No, I used my Tronxy 3d printer that I bought on eBay.
Is it possible to make an Odroid XU4 tablet? It has much better performance for the money imo, raspi just isn't good enough for a tablet tbh
This guy is a fucking legend
This is cool
why didnt you use a tf-extender cabel for the SDcard?
I have a old dead asus tab but display fully working how to use tab display as a lcd and connect to resberry pi
Gday First time to the channel
Interesting idea
But lacks USB ports to recharge battery and ability to remove battery from back of case
Also seems to lack external wifi aerial and no HDMI out or LAN ethernet port
Would it just not be easier to make a case out of wood instead of 3d printing ?
Put a led on the EC like a mac when the tablet turn on the led turn on too
Can I build it with screws? I want to disassemble it to fix a problem.
maybe an idea.. you can get the thinnest screen with 1 usb port and plug the intel stick pc into it, that has like 4gigs of ram
cant i use my old android tablet lcd to the rasberrypi3???
Does the touch screen work out of the box or did you need specific drivers/code? I have a smaller touch screen. But I haven't been able to get the touch part to work. It works great as a HDMI monitor, but I'm clearly not skilled enough with software to know what to do next. Any advice?
My touchscreen worked out of the box. But my touchscreen was the official raspberry pi touchscreen that used the raspberry pi's DSI port. There is a way to get your touchscreen working but I think you need to edit the config.txt file for the OS you're using.
Interesting.... now if only I own a 3d printer
Hooray for Android
Man this was simpler than expected (I though it would take a few months)
Mans legend
This is much better than apples
Its well working on raspberry PI board?
It looks so messy. No wonder the first screen broke. Next time fill the empty space with a custom printed circuit board to connect up ports and the power supply. It will look a lot nicer and won't need so many wires that could be a potential eyesore when building it or making repairs. I also think this would be better off as some kind of computer hybrid; in my eyes it seems a bit too thick to be a tablet. That's just my opinion though :). I hope you make an updated version of this. (Maybe with a magnetic removable keyboard?)
Best wishes on your future endeavours!
Cool.
