@ABRAHAM The old AKC, British name was what I had in mind, the name formerly used to describe them in English speaking countries.
As it stands now, historically, we know that the Egyptians had depictions of dogs very like salukis as far back as 3000 years, and most famously on the incredible gold ostrich fan found in King Tut's tomb.
Also, there are seals from Mesopotamia, used by the Sumerians that also depict hunting dogs very like the saluki from as far back as 3000 B.C. Interested saluki enthusiasts and academics have been doing scholarly work on this since the 70's. It IS very interesting to wonder which ancient civilization gave us such a treasure, and heaven bless the Bedouin for preserving them into the 20th century.

They could identify the horses from markings and tattooed numbers visible in the video. The issue there is that the race trainers often sell the retired horses in good faith but then from that point on there’s no responsibility for their retirement care so the new owner can send them to slaughter for no good reason other than they don’t want to pay to maintain them as retired animals. I think the government has now put in place a system where the trainer must be responsible until the horses natural end of life regardless of who they are sold to or resold to.
