Hi! Welcome! Glad to have you here 🥰
your cookie came out really good. now how would you go about making something smaller like a chocolate chip? with calk and use an icing tip and a piping bag?
I make them basically the same way as the Kisses. I have a chocolate chip cookie tutorial coming in a week or 2 and I show how I do it. You probably can do it with spackle and a piping bag with a tiny round tip too though.
@@CassieSmallwood yes I did see someone do it with spackle. I have quite a lot of cake decorating experience. So that might be easier for me, my love of cake decorating is another reason I'd like to try fake baking 😊. I'll check out your tutorial
@@deborahbarbaccia6813 I might need some cake decorating lessons from you 😂 I've been practicing my piping skills, but it is NOT coming to me very easily.
@@CassieSmallwood it just takes some practice. But the consistency of the icing and the amount of pressure your using to squeeze the piping bag has a lot to do with it. The icing can't be too thin or it won't hold it's shape. For instance a Shell border. Touch the icing tip to the cake board. Start squeezing and let the icing start to build up. As you pull away release your pressure on the bag. Go slow and just practice, only fill your bag about half way. Practice you'll get it. If you don't like it just scrap it up and do it again. Lol you just have to get a feel for it. I've been decorating cake since my kids were young, they are now 40 and 34. Let me know how you make out. Ok☺️
May I ask, what are the indications for using Crayon Model Magic vs. air dry clay? Your work is amazing! Thank you!
The process would be the same. The air dry clay just holds textures like the toothpick lines better.
@@CassieSmallwood Thank you!
Could you use salt dough for the cookie ?
Yes 😊
I love the technique, honestly I didn’t know there was such a thing as fake bake groups, what do you do with what you make? I’ve made a few thing that I display at holidays on kitchen counter how do you store your items
I don't have my group anymore, but there are others. Many people sell their creations. Most of mine go on my tiered tray.
@@CassieSmallwood I love your ideas and work, I bought that margarita glass and want to do that for summer time,
I can’t find the alcohol ink you use (discontinued)but found another brand I want to try, also I’m going to order Bohs white foam clay to create a few things , I’m retiring in a month and will have more time, hopefully it won’t go bad if not used
@@maryburke3041 those will both last a long time as long as they're closed up well. Any alcohol ink works, but may have slightly different coloring than the ones I used.
@@CassieSmallwood thank you for your time and teachings, I love what you do!!
So cute! Maybe you can help me? I have made cookies, donuts, and embellishments for cupcakes with air dry clay and model magic. Unfortunately, ever time I seal them with mod podge ( matte or glossy ), the paint and sealer peel off in chunks. I let the clay dry for literally weeks before I paint them and wait at least a week before I seal them. They look beautiful and then they peel 😩. I have tried deco art matte varnish and clear spray acrylic to seal them as well. I am almost ready to give up Lol! I live in Florida, so the humidity is very high, but my home is air conditioned and dry. Do you have any advice, I would really appreciate it ❤️
Hmmmm....I've never had that happen. Have you tried painting them before they're dry to see how that works for you? It might all bond together more that way. I also usually put my stuff in front of a fan to dry it faster. Maybe that would help.
@@CassieSmallwood I will give it a try! Thanks for responding! Have a blessed night ❤️
@@splitrockadventures5814 of course! I always try to respond to comments. So if you ever have any other questions, just ask!
