    Freddie's astonishing voice is unmatched.
Even scientific study confirms Freddie Mercury had an unparalleled singing voice. That what makes his voice so special was extremely fast vibrato 7.04 Hz and subharmonics. He was able to create several more layers of harmonics than anyone else. Freddie was using a subharmonics by vibrating his ventricular folds, a technique usually found only in Tuvan throat singers. One of the conclusions from the studies was that "Mercury was vibrating something in his throat that even Pavarotti couldn't move and that kind of creates a very typical vocal fingerprint"

Love your reactions, BTW the accent is just a plain old BRITISH one although Freddie had the most beautiful pronounciation. I'm from the Northern Quarters of England and my accent is very very very broad indeed, however still BRITISH. RIP beautiful man, my hero, everyday you make me smile when I listen to the legendary music that is QUEEN. Stay safe from Manchester, UK

You mentioned his accent. Freddie was born in Tanzania and his family moved to London when he was young. His accent is British.

Thanks, Kids - love how Brian (guitarist) starts on keys, then switches to guitar and then both Brian and Roger (drummer) join in on vocals - so dramatic!

Great reaction. I have been a Queen fan for over 30 years and have seen them 3 times live, at Live Aid 1985 (when I was 16 years old), at the concert that you are reacting to here (yes I was in that crowd) in July 1986 and then their finale at Knebworth in August 1986.
Here's a quick background story regarding Freddie.
Freddie was born in 1946 in Stone Town in the British Protrectorate of Zanzibar. His parents were from the Parsi community of Western India. The family had moved to Zanzibar so that his father Bomi could continue his job as a cashier at the British Colonial Office. As Parsis the Bulsaras practiced Zoroastrianism faith. As Zanzibar was a British protectorate until 1963 Mercury was born as a British subject and on the 2 June 1969 was registered a citizen of the United Kingdom & Colonies.
Freddie spent most of his childhood in India where he began taking piano lessons at the age of severen while living with his Aunt. In 1954 at the age of 8 Freddie was sent to study at St Peter's School, a British style boarding school for boys in Panchgani near Bombay. At the age of 12 he formed a school band "The Hectics" and covered rock and roll artists such as Cliff Richard, Little Richard and adored Aretha Franklin and alike. It is around this time that he began to call himself "Freddie". In 1963 he moved back to Zanzibar where he joined his parernts.
His family fled the Zanzibar Revolution and moved to Middlesex, England. He attended Ealing College where he met Roger Taylor and Brian May. A short while later they were joined by John Deacon the bass player, and as they say "THE REST IS HISTORY". Hope this helps.
Below are some other mind blowing performances you need to check out :-

the song was written for the soundtrack of the cult 80s movie "Highlander" in which a man is immortal. he cannot age or die by any means unless he is decapitated. him and the many other immortals duke it out to be the last immortal standing "there can only be one". the song symbolizes the entire franchize. queen were given a brief description of the movie and made the song

There was some beer on the piano but he kept a glass of tea, honey and lemon there too to sooth his throat. He sang with everything he had and his whole heart and that has to be hard on the throat.

(My FAV version of this song is actually from the previous night’s performance on Friday, July 11… Believe-it-or-not, Freddie’s vocals are EVEN BETTER & MORE INTENSE/PASSIONATE! On this second day, Fred’s voice actually sounds “tired”, in comparison.)🖖

Just so you guys know, Queen actually did TWO concerts at Wembley in 1986: Friday, July 11 & Saturday, July 12. It’s sometimes called the Wembley Weekend. So, there are some avid Queen/Freddie fans (like myself), who will ask for a specific performance from EITHER the Friday concert OR the Saturday one. (Because like everything Queen & Freddie did live, EVERY performance is DIFFERENT!)
For instance… with “Who Wants To Live Forever”, my ALL TIME FAV performance is from FRIDAY, JULY 11 (this one you watched is from Saturday, July 12). Believe-it-or-not, Freddie’s vocals are even BETTER (PERFECT, actually.)😳 The way he sings it is also over-the-top INTENSE and PASSIONATE.🤯 It would make the hair stand up on the back of your neck and possibly make you CRY.🥺

The greatness of the band is indisputable, but Freddie Mercury was much more than a rock singer and a frontman. If you want to learn more about the band, I suggest you the Brief History of Queen, just 27 minutes: czcams.com/video/otObYcuHC0E/video.html

If you want to see how much queen fans loved Freddie and the whole band, all over the world then you should watch "love of my life" rockin Rio. At the time, it was the largest concert in history. Freddie wasn't sure if the crowd even understood him since it was Brazil and they don't speak English there. Then something happened that amazed him. What happened set the stage for a lot of his other concerts. I won't tell you what it is, you just have to watch it.

Freddie sounds good here but IMO his voice was best late 70s, early 80s. You should do a reaction to them live @ Montreal Nov 81 or @ the Bowl June 82 are two of my favorites. Or some good early Queen would be in 1974 @ the Rainbow. At this concert @ Wembley in 86, he was already HIV positive but didn’t know it yet. He officially tested positive around April 1987. Some of these last performances of his I feel his voice was having a rough go of it but him having AIDS he still had a voice above all the rest. One of the best musicians in modern music history and hands down the best frontman EVER. We still love you Freddie ♥️

Another band from around the same time and a bit before Queen you guys may enjoy is Led Zeppelin, I can suggest several songs as I'm sure others who are following you on this journey can as well, but a good starter song I would suggest is "When the Levee Breaks" others may suggest Stairway to Heaven but to be honest everyone does a first time to that song and I am thinking of a song that you may enjoy as your first song and also open that door to the music of Led Zeppelin.
