Nothing will be able to stop them, not even us, and now they, along with an entire army of mages also capable of killing us, are preparing to tear down everything we’ve worked thousands of years to accomplish!

I believe griffiths pettiness towards guts never left. He was definitely bulshitting when he said he doesn’t care about guts anymore imo. It’s not a smart move by any means, but I think he just wants to torment guts for what he did Waaaay back to their duel. Griffith has been inferred time and time again to be a control freak, so having something he can’t control really gets to him. Even though it’s pointed out he can’t even effect the flow of the river; guts is the fish that can fly out of the river. While he has no effect on the big picture, guts HIMSELF can’t be controlled and that pisses Griffith off. We’ve been shown that the apostles always turn back to normal after death, showing their true human form. And despite his godlike powers, his charisma, and power over others; deep down he’s still that tortured frail prisoner who can’t stand seeing guts and casca happy.
eh i think griffith is just solving the moon kid problem, the guy doesn't give two shits about guts and casca. it just happened that he fucked himself over by chance when he raped a pregnant casca and later the kid, by chance, was swallowed by the egg apostle that became his body. and now they share the same body, obviously thats super annoying for griffith. and since the kid kinda gave the opportunity for griffith to get to skellige island, why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone? get the mom and fuck with everyone else on the island. honestly i dont think griffith is that petty now lol, back then in golden age he tried to fuck with guts and casca because he was at his lowest point in life, now? he's a goddamn god.
That last part really hits the nail. Seeing Guts and Casca moved on from his curse must have felt like he didn't matter anymore to them so in his hubris, brought them back to his control by taking Casca in order to handle his child transformations, to weaken the competition and to break Guts simply to be petty. Guts doesn't know what he wants to do with Griffith but on the path to letting go but Griffith could never give him peace because it invalidates him.
definitely hinted at earlier with rickerts refusal to serve griffith again, even with it being a pretty good reason, leading griffith to send a particularly sadistic apostle to try and murder him.
I dont think so, he was ok with rickert slapping him and leaving Falconia. And if he just wanted to fuck with Guts, he could have just "reenacted" the Eclispe, and have Guts' new party be killed, and Casca raped again

@@nananamamana3591 Always thought it was on purpose, as his usefulness as a character was always being something Guts can hold on in the moments he's losing himself. Schierke had this role for a while, but now that she's getting into her own stuff, I think it would be perfect for Puck to act, and it REALLY adds that he hasn't gotten that chance so far.

I’d like to think it’s going to be very chaotic. I mean they already said in one of the chapters that falconia is basically a powder keg at this point. And the fact that guts, a former band of the hawk, knows pretty much every dirty deed Griffith has done including having the current queens uncle and cousin killed.
There’s a lot of interesting ways this could turn out.

I'll be the first to admit that I was a little annoyed with the "light hearted" direction that Berserk had taken despite still enjoying it overall but...oh boy. When I read the final chapters of Fantasia I was practically screaming for the fantasy bullshit creatures and dumb children sidekicks to be okay. It wasn't until that point that I realized how invested I had actually gotten with them all and how crushed I would be if they died. Seeing the Astral plane residents fade away was incredibly heartbreaking.

The level of pain I felt watching Guts near tears collapsed on the floor realizing the one and only thing he ever had even in his darkest moments to lean on, his strength and his sword, failed him in the most critical moment cannot be understated. It’s not even pain like I want to cry it just made me feel dead inside, SOMEBODY HELP THIS MAN I BEG.

Now that you mention it... This is a textbook Griffith thing to do.
He has it all. He's a god. The people love him and worship him. He has his kingdom, an army of devout soldiers, and could live out an eternal peace if he wanted. Even his sworn enemy, Guts, is considering giving up the pursuit of vengeance.
And what does he do? He throws it all away in one really stupid decision. Probably not thinking about the consequences of his actions due to his raging ego. And now the few people in the world that might have a chance of stopping him all have a fucking reason to kick in his door and tear down everything he's built.

The main reason he did this is because he WANTS Guts to pursue him endlessly. It's his new way of possessing Guts. It's why he enraged Guts by violating Casca and corrupted their baby all the way back in Golden Age. Everything he ever did was to manipulate Guts. To keep him under his control.
When Guts walked away and found a new family, it probably set off Griffith. So now he's taking the one thing Guts chose over him, and is keeping it next to him at all times so that Guts has no choice but to go after him in order to get it back.
Even if Guts lets go, Griffith never will.
And hopefully, that'll be his downfall.
And coincidentally they both involve unsolicited contact with woman

berserk I only got into 1-2 years ago, but it touched me in a way that I can't described, it's such an amazing story and universe I hope it can get the ending it deserves and be remembered among the Fantasy epics that preceded it

It does seem like what Griffith does is always a type of history repeating itself with the mock eclipse being a repeat of the eclipse that made him femto, the raising of falconia being a repeat of Gaseric's reign and now he kidnapped Casca which does in fact feel like a repeat of him sleeping with the princess a impulsive decision with no thought behind it and lest we forget one that destroyed everything that he had built up to that point.

It's interesting that some prefer Berserk to end on 364. The last words they would read from Berserk and think canon is literally "That, too, will soon disappear with a single tear like morning dew." It almost poetic in a way. At least twenty one hours, three-hundred sixty-four chapters, almost thirty years, and to them it all ends so abruptly.
It really was a good cliff hanger. Miura was a word smith and that was a haunting prophecy of his death
Really is beautiful
It was a decent ending if not conclusive. It’s relatively happy, and we get a nice reveal that when Griffith is trapped in the moonlight child he swallowed with immense guilt and selfloathing due to having his emotions return before reverting back to his heartless self.
But of course it also leaves the giant cliffhanger of it being the first time the three have actually been together since the eclipse.
There's something so strikingly beautiful that Miura's final chapter was chapter 364, just one chapter (day) away from making it a full year. I'm really glad they're continuing the story but I never would have minded if Berserk simply ended at that last panel.

Willing to bet we'll be seeing Silat and Rickert again very soon, and the next time they cross paths with Guts is where the party is going to find their next (and perhaps final) destination: Falconia (it's been over 13 years since the end of Falcon of the Millennium Empire and remember- Guts doesn't even know Falconia exists or what exactly happened with Ganishka), and they're gonna have to fight their way through a twisted world of dragons and giants to get there.

The Soul of Cinder was such a good pick for these past chapters. Just hearing that faint "plin plin plon" got me bawling like a fat kid who got his lunch money taken from him.
The no paradise line hearkens to Lost Children BUT we also have a slight call back to Godo. "Why don't you just run away. Away from hate. Stay with those important to you." Something like that. Well he tried and maybe now he has no choice this time

With this most recent chapter, I see a big parallel between Guts and DMC4 Nero, specifically when Sanctus kidnaps Kyrie. The look on Guts' face reminded me A LOT of the sound of undeniable defeat from Nero during that scene in the Order of the Sword headquarters, and I felt that exact same type of sadness looking at that one panel.

Berserk has been with me since I was 10 Years old. It started with The Golden Age Films, and I’ve been reading the manga since the summer of 2020. Berserk continues to be the stuff of legend, and will be be one of those pieces of media that’s shaped who I am. I don’t know where I’m going with this comment, but I can say with certainty that Kentaro Miura is the greatest modern-day writer without a shadow of a doubt and I’m happy to be in a world where his work exists. Rest in heavenly peace Kentaro Miura. May your disciples and friends continue to uphold your legacy.

Why the hell did that feel more like a 10m video than a 30m one? And holy hell these chapters were amazing, it felt like a return of "old berserk". Considering we had all these good feels moments and a peaceful land, heck even a smoother art style... it was like a sugar rush, and here I was waiting for the crash, and my god that crash was bad.

I dont care what anyone says, these new chapters capture the heart of berserk. To bring it all crumbling down. Hell we even got normal puck. I believe this is what kentaro miura would have wanted.
It’s incredible interesting/heartbreaking to see Guts this defeated. Like what was said in the video, even after the Eclipse, Guts had his rage and hatred to drive him forward. But now, the flames have been all but extinguished. He has well and truly lost. And I struggle to see how Guts will ever actually face Griffith in combat. Even with the Berserker Armor activated. Whatever enchantment the Dragonslayer has, clearly doesn’t do anything to Griffith. And if Griffith is able to manipulate the Berserker Armor to make sure it doesn’t activate, Guts has no hope of winning a fight 1 on 1. Hell, even with support, unless Skull Knight is one of those backing him there is no way I see Guts even hurting him. These chapters have been insane and I’m so happy they’ve decided to continue Berserk. I have slight issues with these new chapters but honestly, the positives HEAVILY out weigh the negatives. And these last 2-3 chapters have been some of the best chapters I’ve read of Berserk. I adored them. I truly hope Guts finds a way to stand back up again and get Casca back.
I hope his nakamas can help him get up this like, which the old Band of the Hawk haven't done

Yeah, "never interrupt your enemy when hes making a mistake" the beast of darkness wants a mentally broken guts with nothing left to lose so it can more easily take control. I dont think the beast of darkness knows fear at all, it seems like a complete force of nature and i think it will be what allows guts to harm griffith.

Yea, the beast of darkness wants Guts at his lowest point so it can tempt him with the behelit Guts keeps around for an unnerving reason. I think that's his apostle form screaming to come out and thats why it tempted Guts to ravage Casca - because the behelit requires sacrifice.
Major props to Kouji Mori and Miura’s students for finishing up this awesome story. That ending wasn’t satisfying at all, and I will never understand why people want to push away these new chapters. This was one hell of a final, and a great way to set up the new arc. This is what Miura would’ve wanted
Because its its not miura anymore. Thats why they reject. The new chapters wont have the finer details to lore and whatnot that miura would probably put in.
Its kinda the same aspect with star wars. Complain all you want bout the prequels and the old extended universe. George lucas still had his hand in it. Now look at what disney has done with star wars. Theres your answer to why people are mistrusting or rejecting of mori and the apprentices team.
So far while you can see the differences in the art in the new chapters the mori team is doing very well

I believe Kouji Mori will do just fine finishing it. This isn't the first time a legendary piece of media was adequately finished by someone else capable. Brandon Sanderson was able to finish The Wheel of Time with only notes left behind by Robert Jordan. Franz Xaver Süssmayr finished Mozart's Requiem. Heck, Wikipedia has a massive list of works posthumously completed by others.
Granted while Kouji Mori might not have notes, he has the years of knowing and working with Miura to use as a guide.

I have a theory, Casca, in her comatose state, is going to have a mental struggle with herself. This other side of her will be Elaine, her fear and innocence. For her to overcome her demons from the past she must first conquer the demons within herself.
Btw, I'm new to the channel and I had to say use sum up your interpretation of berserk very nicely.
And I picture that, after Casca's mind is fully healed, she'll try to leave Falconia and fight through the world post Ganishka's downfall to find Guts, it would be a mix of the Conviction and Black Swordsman arcs!

I began reading Berserk in July shortly after you dropped your 21 hour video. My friend showed it to me and I always knew Berserk as "that edgy swordsman anime I saw an episode of in High School" (the 1990s anime). I skimmed through a few parts and by chance watched the ending of the fourth arc and I was hooked. And when I would finish an arc of Berserk's manga I would go to your video to see what pieces of info I missed, your video helped contextualize a lot of the tragedies Guts and co. faced. I finished 364 on the same day you posted this video and I only just got around to watching it right now (because a friend of mine had stopped reading Berserk after Miura's death so it was a big deal for the two of us to read the latest 5 chapters together) and that was a trip.
I'm super excited to be fully caught up on Berserk just as Fantasia is ending. I can't wait to see how the story continues, thank you for these videos and keep up the good work!!
Just the shear sight of Griffith brought me to rage, and seeing guts truly defeated crushed my soul and nearly to tears I know for a fact that when this next arc starts we’re going to see truly why you don’t mess with a man with nothing else to loose.
Am I the only one who thinks that Griffith took Casca away to contain the loneliness the moon child has? Not to spite guts since Griffith said he didn't care about Guts. Every child needs their mother and there's that chapter about Griffith feeling it too. Makes sense since they're in the same body.
Griffith *says* he doesn’t care but he obviously does. He chooses to spare Guts during the eclipse, belittles Guts and makes him feel insignificant in guardians of desire, tries to rekindle his friendship with Guts on the hill of swords. He wants to own Guts and is irritated by the fact Guts isn’t buying into it.
@@RockyLXXXVIII if he really didn't care then why leave guts alone and claim his own kingdom pretty much the whole story until taking casca back? Unless explicitly stated we'll never really know what Griffith actually thinks of guts. I get it though his actions seem spiteful but since he became Femto he's just been doing his own thing and leaving Guts to do his own thing
His care for Casca also fades though, he states it with the "like a drop of morning dew" line, I like all of peoples conclusions that are being drawn thus far but it seems like no one has stated the obvious, Casca is fucking branded lol Griffith still isn't at full power untill Guts and Casca are sacrificed which i believe will be an ultimatum he will soon face
@@stevenm.9645 I think it fades because Griffith was back in control so his care for Casca is minimal compared to the child. Also I always wondered if the brand did affect his power directly, that brings up a lot more questions now.

You right though that Griffith's feelings "fading like a drop of morning dew" is simply due to him slowly reverting back to his emotionless self, with the emotions given him thanks to the moonlight child disappearing. I assume this is also why Griffith looks back at Guts and Casa, sad and crying, then snaps back into villain mode and gives Casca that infamous hawk stare, that was the last remnants of emotions fading as we saw the old Griffith with his humanity intact transition back into the emotionless demon that he became back in golden age.

I'm willing to bet Skull Knight has been fallowing Guts since he always seems to attract the attention of demons, but the only way he's an actual bad guy is if Miura was a hack writer, which all know he isn't. Not with all the set up Skull Knight has had nor with the good people he knows and calls friends to this day. About the worst thing I could think Skull Knight might would try is stealing Guts' kill on Griffith in the future.
