These are the ideals that inspire the glorious Vatican Gendarmerie Corps, engaged in guarding the Supreme Pontiff and in vigilance over the territory of Vatican City State, as well as in the service of civil protection. On the first line or behind the scenes, the gendarmes have been witnesses to numerous events in recent history, and have known how to respond to the new challenges of our times. For the first time a documentary film, produced by the Vatican Television Centre, celebrates this history that has until now remained for the most part concealed.
