Back in the 90s early 2000...my grandmother rented her homes to the Mets while in training. I met a lot of them .Not a sports fan , so I do not remember their names . She passed away years ago . All the guys were very nice .
Port St. Lucie is wonderful! We have been here 12 years now and love it! Feels like a small town but still has all that a big city offers. It is also halfway between Orlando and Miami (2 hours). Makes for easy quick getaways.

Hi Terry. I don’t know how I missed this one, but I’m just now seeing it. You were what my NYer husband calls “way out west”. We live on the east side of PSL (three miles east of the TP entrance and a few blocks west of US1. We moved up here from south Florida about 8 years ago to take care of my mom. We like it here. It is however lacking a downtown which Tradition sort of has, but we are very close to the Treasure Coast Mall (about three miles south of us). We are of course only about 6 to 11 miles from beautiful beaches one of which you can even go horseback riding on (Frederick Douglas Beach) and we have done so. As for seafood we have Conchy Joe’s, The Dolphin and Shrimp Bar(fka Frances Langford’s)Shuckers, The Manatee, Twisted Tuna all in the radius of a short drive 👍🏻👍🏻
Haha you're husband's exactly right I call it that too!! Even though PSL lacks a downtown you mention, where you are is pretty close to Stuart and the riverwalk area where I visited and did a livestream and vlog a while back. It's really lovely up there. Hope your husband's a Mets fan! lol Thanks

Those houses are nice, but if I could afford whatever I wanted, I'd still build an expansive and sturdy one story.
I don’t understand why Florida won’t allow barndominiums in most counties. They’re made to withstand 250 mph winds. Good in hurricane territory.
My grandmother is literally 8 minutes from the stadium. I love PSL but it’s too quiet for me.

Love in PSL love it we lived in Hollywood Fl and plantation. By far favorite place we just bought a house in PSL west ...I also live 3 min from Mets training. Yes it’s clean and almost all gated we are in gated community also . We love it

Ah the pizzle, where I grew up, little little NY. That’s the HGTV green home you came up on in tradition. The winner abandoned it after they won it., couldn’t pay taxes.
😮Wow, I had no idea. But I saw the flyer on it and couldn't believe the price. It's nice but I remember not that long ago it seem when PSL homes used to go for a third of that price.

What are you trying to tell us with that music after you left the Mets LOL? We have been looking into Port St Lucie because of jobs and price and safety. But I dont drive I am a true NYC girl. So this might not be an option for us. I appreciate your hard work! That town or gated community looks great (tradition) but expensive! Would you be inclined to go to Juno Beach? We are thinking of that too. Also looking forward to the beach video!

@@BarefootVlogger Thanks we were thinking of Jupiter too! We were first going to move to Hawaii for their perfect weather and other things. Floridas weather and the bugs and critters freak us out but its politically free and now Hawaii has a vaccine pass port so that is no longer an option. So we are just starting to look in Florida like all the other New Yorkers!

Hockey, I saw all the awesome Pittsburgh hockey that there was to see, from Mario to now. Baseball, I saw them when they were pretty good, and then a bunch of those guys went to other teams and won championships. Lol.

Hey Born! To be clear, I think you're asking 2 separate questions here. Port St. Lucie is as diverse as many of the cities in South Florida like Pompano and Lauderdale. As to your second question, there are pockets of the city that look less appealing than others, like most places. But Port St Lucie was ranked 7th in Safewise's top 50 safest cities in Florida.
