You should keep on searching any other good shaikh who carries belief of Ahl Sunnah Al Jamah. It should be noted that the Sufis have various chains. Hence if some shaikh in the beginning does not ask for zikr qalbi you must not worry. A murid should surrender himself to the shaikh, he should not try to dominate the shaikh.
