I thought so at one time then when I read Luther's bio..he has done several songs on his dating back to the early 70's. Then in 1978 Luther sung on the first cut on the classic Bionic Boogie & Greg Diamond album. The song is Papillion Butterfly in which Chaka Khan recorded later that year.

Went the Strings of My Heart" by The Trammps...their first version on Buddha. They later recorded it for their own label - Golden Fleece - in 1975, but ended up legally having to release an instrumental version only (retitled as "Trammps Disco Theme"), I believe due to something contract related with Buddha to not re-record material during a certain time period, but an original mix of the '75 version from back then with the vocals intact does exist which Tom Moulton found (I think) in the early 2010s, and was released.

This one I heard sampled in a vaporwave song by Dante Mars Ajeto, it basically sounds the same but it adds a remixed part that feels like a party.

Michael Richardson: Disco will never die, I sure miss the music of the 1980's. the disco period was the best period of my teenage and early twenties. at age 26 the disco age was over and rap was officially in by 1989-1990. there were no more discotech anymore. discotech were out of business, discotech tried in vain to stay in business, and they were now called the club. the crowd was younger and the music and magic was gone forever. this was devastating to me and my friends, because there was no more Paradise Garage, and Better Days, clubs my friends and I went frequently. The was post-Disco. It was called Dance Music by the music powers that was. Reviewers in the Dance Music Report magazine called it "Sophisticated Funk". I called it R&B Dance....Dance b/c of the 4/4. You're right the entire LP is a Classic. I love how on "Heaven Of My Life" Luther's backing vocal bleeds out from the background. Sooo Dope! Jocelyn Brown is singing on this LP as well, a/k/a Jocelyn Shaw.

@@clubhead433 What's the first and last of Disco has been discussed a lot. I hear this as part of later period Disco, which lasts through 1982, with maybe some traces past then.
First is "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart" by The Trammps...their first version on Buddha. They later recorded it for their own label - Golden Fleece - in 1975, but ended up legally having to release an instrumental version only (retitled as "Trammps Disco Theme"), I believe due to something contract related with Buddha to not re-record material during a certain time period, but an original mix of the '75 version from back then with the vocals intact does exist which Tom Moulton found (I think) in the early 2010s, and was released.

Michael Richardson: Disco will never die, I sure miss the music of the 1980's. the disco period was the best period of my teenage and early twenties. at age 26 the disco age was over and rap was officially in by 1989-1990. there were no more discotech anymore. discotech were out of business, discotech tried in vain to stay in business, and they were now called the club. the crowd was younger and the music and magic was gone forever. this was devastating to me and my friends, because there was no more Paradise Garage, and Better Days, clubs my friends and I went frequently.
