Being a lifeline Main can definitely see myself playing Newcastle myself due to the walk-in heals plus the shield definitely going to be fun
Imagine if there were no leaks and this was the first time we saw Newcastle’s abilities up close. So excited for this new legend.
I'm glad I didn't see the leaks, first time seeing his abilities and looks amazing. This is the first Legend I've been hyped to play in a while.
Id imagine we would still find out. I was hyped for the leaks and the official reveal. And as always hyped for the patch notes
I didn't read leaks. I saw lore trailer (which showed all these abilities) and then this one.
Completely unexcited. Overwatch died because of abundance of barriers, looks like Apex is headed the same way.
@@vagabond1574 The very first legend I played on Day 1 was Lifeline. I thought she was a great support legend and it fit my playing style. Over time, I saw the value of Gibby from watching ALGS pros. Gibby was a nice mix of offense and defense, but I never could master Gibby’s playing style. I currently main Bangalore and here comes Newcastle… I feel this could be the right mix for my playing style! An enhanced blend of defense but in a way that greatly helps offensive strategy.

Nice touch having this “Meet the Legend” narrated by his sister, Bangalore. I’m so excited for Newcastle. He really seems like the kind of legend that I’ll enjoy.
@Jad Mallouhi I’m actually used to Rampart. She’s been my main this season. Lifeline was my OG main when I started in season 11 before I unlocked anyone. So yes, I’m excited for Newcastle. I’m not at all used to Pathfinder, Wraith, or Octane.
I started playing during the Maggie event of season 8, and I’ve always been excited when new legends come out, but I NewCastle has to be my favourite so far, it’s what I’ve always wanted in a legend. 100% pure defence

I’m excited to see what playing Newcastle will be like. I’m more of a Supportive Role in most games and I haven’t really been able to find that role in Apex that I like yet (other than Loba). I have a feeling Newcastle is going to be the perfect blend of offence and defence for me.

mirage is a support believe or not, I mained mirage for a few seasons but I moved on to gibby, mans a tank.
@@slayheramv8772 Mirage really isn't a support. The only 'support' he provides is invisible reviving and bringing back.
his ult is definitely gonna take som strategic planning bc i can imagine it would absolutely make u a target for many teams at once but that might not be a bad thing
it has like 900 hp
better used as relocate and heal.
It also has a teammate lock feature so it can be used in a way of getting to a down teammate and reviving them
Newcastle + Rampart should be a great combo, because on his ult you can see that the smaller sections of the wall are exactly the size of the rampart wall, i mean the hard metal part of it, so the Newcastle ult will guarantee the rampart walls to safely activate and not be destroyed while doing that.

Love his abilities! I feel like a legit tank playing as him! Only thing is we need his mobile shield to move faster or to be able to use it more freely or perhaps to be able to pick it up and run with it

yeah, they really should have just given him the tactical we see him use in his legends of the outlands trailer, so a 110% arm mounted body shield that you can fire SMGs or Pistols with, but not anything else. Like a tactical sized gib arm shield. (so trading firepower for defense)

I think NewCastle’s passive will give a new use to knockdown Shields and make them a bit more useful to pick up higher rarities
Oh yeah, purple knockdown could actually be pretty useful to grab. And if it recharges, would make it pretty strong.
I don’t think so unless they make it to where Newcastle has a quicker revive with the gold knockdown.(quicker than the normal revive too)

I can honestly see some good synergy with Newcastle and wattson, given he can make up for wattson’s weakness in open areas with his walls, and she can use her ult to stop Grenades and stuff like Gibby or bang’s ults without it just getting shot apart, but hey we’ll see when the new season starts how people will use him

The ability alone is strong enough. It shouldn't be that fast, otherwise it wouldn't be balanced.

Really excited for the new season!
It still amazes me how well Respawn made Apexes character development and story lines but Blizzard completely failed at doing the exact same thing with Overwatch.
Right? I play both but I am so much more interested in Apex's story. I think Overwatch doesn't come out with enough lore, they keep retconning, and there is just something... Boring about them as people compared to the Apex cast.

OW2 has really kneecapped them and caused them to drop the ball. Even the most interesting characters like Moira and Sigma have nothing to them because they aren't developed outside of their sole YT videos.
Overwatch has so much more lore and world building and didn't even scratch the surface they really dropped the ball man
he looks amazing for end zones in ranked when there’s a lot of teams or if ur getting pinched feel like he will become a must need especially with how sweaty ranked is gonna be now

Don't see it myself. Too vulnerable to aerial bombardment. Will be useful in combination with Valk ult but both could be stopped by a valk tactical, gibby ult, grenades, etc.
That ult range Is gona be a sweet reposition tool in cluth situations

Ehhh with nades he can be stopped but with a gibs end game he’s definitely gonna be used. Right now a lot of pros are using valk/gibs/caustic I can definitely see people pick newcastle over caustic 100%
Hard to tell. The wall goes forward not side ways, so it's hard to cover your rotation. And it's not as big as a Gibby dome

Auto res is still good as shielded res. Plus that shielded res can still be broken, its not like lifelines old passive that could take all dmg.

In all honesty I feel like he’s gonna go crazy in late-end game br fights where he’s probably gonna make it ten times easier to push up on the remaining teams and make it safer for when your getting pushed, although he might go crazy in br I feel like he’s gonna be either really easy to counter/annoying or really good/balanced in arenas, but other than that I’m excited to see him in the game.

@@dondarii1638 And gold bag is almost always available. If you can use re45, then from starting round you could goldbag/re45 with him and he'd be pretty good. Lifeline is overall more clutch in arenas most times though since she cans still fight and defend while reviving and if both team mates are garbage she can just go back and forth gold bag reviving.
@@Samuri5hit84 at first I was thinking that the gold back pack won’t help with him since his shield goes off of his knockdown shield not back pack but he still gets the gold Rez with the back pack regardless so he’ll be really good with it still.

Lifeline is nerfed to shreds and instead of buffing her to make her viable, they gave her previous shield to newcastle - making her the most useless "support" there is.
People missing the key “his knockdown shield” it can be purple if upgraded but it’s his knockdown. I’m sure it has limited hp and if it’s used up for a teammate he can’t use it for himself
This gives the knockdowns a new reason to be used

I was wondering how it knew I saved a teammate but now I see it just means how many times did I use my ULT while targeting my teammate. Thanks for pointing this out~

Okay this trailer puts any doubt that Newcastle will definitely change the meta and he’s way better than I thought. 2 options for his shield tactical AND it can trail in front of you!? AND his Ultimate gets so much height and range to jump in place. He is definitely going to start VERY powerful.

His passive only seems useful if the enemy is not close. His tactical seems breakable and as a result underwhelming IMO. His ult doesn't really provide that much cover it seems. I don't know, I could be mistaken but I think he's gonna be mid-tier at best. Guess we'll have to wait and see

I'm really impressed with Newcastle. I'm closing in on the next legend unlock and I'm looking forward to getting him.
Now we need a support healer like lifeline that can possibly provide a larger area of healing as an ultimate and maybe tactical shot item that can boost health temporarily over time to only one selected target (allies or self or maybe misfire and you boost a creature in the environment or the enemy team by accident?)

From what i see from the leaked battle pass the music pack is in the free section at tier 77 so you dont need to buy. But they can still change that.
Bro has a movement shield ability, a rez shield that he can use while moving, and a moving shield that he can transform into a headglitch. I'm assuming they're all destructible, but that seems like a lot. He might be the most versatile character yet. You just gotta be good with either a gun or changing your shield between headglitch and full wall.
Think that was the shield breaking.... Hes shooting a charge rifle through so no need for head glitch.
the level the shield was at when it broke it is definitely not headglitch level, it looked like it only went up to around crouch level. It would need to be at around the shoulders for it to be a headglitch
But i mean if its like Rampart/Gibby dome aren't basically all his abilities neutered by Maggie tac? Not to mention an EMP
@@Brian-tn4cd while yes since thats maggies whole thing, the ult shield is broad enough to not cover it completely with fire. And lets be real, how many maggies do you run into.
The tactical is indestructible but only lasts for 10 seconds, I think. His passive and ultimate are destructible.

This honestly seems really good and another synergy item character. Like lifeline with gold backpack is good synergy. And gold helmet on certain characters. If his knockdown shield revive is based off his knowckdown shield tier giving him a purple or gold knockdown along with a gold backpack might be crazy good

Looks great and could finally be a lil competition for Gibby, however I dont think we will see meta changes. Newcastle tactical or ult cant block some ults while Gibby's bubble can, but we will have to wait and see a mobile shield can bring lots of potential.
You also realize Maggie gonna roast him if He don't drop the mobile shield, be running around like a roased duck on fire. Lol
