I’ve had that tent for 2 years now. I do like it tbh. I added a small bit of rope to peg down and stretch out the bottom of the side wall.
I had it pitched at the top of a mountain in Glencoe recently. Through the night I had 50mph winds. I had it pitched perfect and it stood up well to it. Not a lot of sleep that night.
The inner pitch first… Last month on another mountain top I decided to set up. I was in the cloud. As soon as I was clipping the inner to the poles the rain came on. I was frantically trying to set up but by the time I did the inner was soaking. Light winds would just make the outer stick to the inner. I was cold and damp and decided to come down the mountain in the dark.
As I said, I do like the tent. It’s lightweight and easy to set up. The inner pitch is the only drawback for me.

It sounds like you tested yours thoroughly too 😂. I think for the weight, it stood up extremely well.
Certainly my go to for 2/3 seasons purely because of the weight.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience. 👍

If you use the universal footprint it is absolutely possible to pitch outer first.

Skeletal structure of the tent didn't appear to be budging from the footage. There was a heck of a lot of flapping of the fly, and often the flapping can be misleading. Maybe some ground anchour pegs on the four guy lines would have done the trick of securing the tent.

Bet your glad u put those guys out 😂 I’ve got this tent, it’s a tough cookie for the weight.

Besides the limited space inside, this looks like a very durable tent that overnight campers should consider getting. Your reviews are very raw and seems unrehearsed which I like. Not a lot of fluff and to the point.

Thanks for the comments. I know my videos are a bit naff, but I enjoy making them and hopefully they’re of some use. 👌👍

I have that tent and I’ve slept like a baby in worse wind than that . Tent copes no bother . You can peg the vent and fly with one peg at the back which saves a peg 👍

Ah, pegging for both, that makes sense. The tent was completely unharmed when I checked it over. I have to agree with your claim. Tough little tent. Thanks for the input, much appreciated. 👌👌👌

Great video. Love to see more hiking camping cooking videos. Sub and bell on waiting for next video

Hi, The videos I’ve already done out and about have had no interest and very few views. I enjoy making them, but no one wants to see them 😔. You may have inspired me to do another one 👍. Watch this space 😉. Thanks for watching and commenting. All feedback is very welcome. 🙏

Is that smaller than the elixir 1

I’m not sure. I can imagine it being much smaller as it’s pretty cramped already 😂. Although the Hubba is quite generous on height for such a light, compact tent. Sorry I couldn’t help any more. Thanks for commenting. 👍
