This was very helpful… there were no instructions on how to lift the grill. Seeing you and your wife, do it by the handles or the tray brackets was exactly how we ended up doing it and it worked just fine thank you.
Great video sir. Just a quick comment. The locking washer always goes on first. So the locking washer (the one with the cut it int) will go on the bolt first and the flat washer will go on last. The locking washer will rest against the bolt head and the flat washer will rest against the cart.
Just picked up my vision grill from sams last night. Paid a whopping $299 end of year sale. I’m glad I did. Went back and they are all sold out. Great how to video. Love the audio because I could hear very clearly every word. Some how to’s are kind of bad about being able to hear them. Thanks again. Mike.
This video was extremely helpful from start to finish! Kept us from having to "redo" many times! Thanks so much for taking the time to make such a detailed instruction video! God bless!
Received my Vision Grill yesterday and put it together well under 20 minutes thanks to this video! I plan to be using it all year here in FL! I'm checking out John Setzler's videos now.
Have to say - we've been eyeballing this grill for some time now. Especially due to the fact that it was priced at $999.99 when we first found it. When we found the price dropped to $349.99 - we snapped it up. Also wanted to say that your video was very informative in regards to the assembly. To make a long story short - we thought we would bring this BBQ in the back seat of our Toyota - wrong. Found a friendly local that delivered it to our residence and helped us unload it from his truck - think that thing weighs close to 300 lbs in the box. So far we enjoy it very much - thanks again for uploading the video!
Bill, Outstanding job on this video and thank you so much for taking the time to do it. I just bought one of these and because of this video, the assembly no longer seems like a daunting task. Thank you again. Nice work!
Bill, Very Rarely have I watched a video like this from start to finish. You and your wife did a great job on this. I am picking up my Vision B- Series from Sam's tomorrow ($499 + tax) and now have no doubt about the assembly. The only difference I see between yours and mine is that now there is an ash drawer that pulls out for cleaning. Thanks !!
For a first video, you hit a home run, Boy! Thank you so much! I have actually put off buying one of these things for months since assembly is always a pain in the ars. I actually kinda enjoyed building it with you!
FYI, lock washers do not go against the flat fixed surface. Split lock washers are meant to prevent rotation and must be against what you're trying to prevent from loosening. In this case, it is the head of the screw. Vision's directions are not clear on this point, nor is the illustration. FWIW, the safety minded wear shoes when lifting or carrying something heavy. ;)
Great Job - Kamado has made a few changes to the grill since this video, but it still is valid for the newer 2017 grills. Also, now the paper washers are lettered and numbered to match the pieces being attached. The legs on my inner ceramic box are much longer, and there is no longer an inner bottom heat resistant plate.
Thanks for your comments. We still love our Vision grill. We moved it from FL to AZ with no damage. I do wish we had the ash tray like the new models but we still love Kamado cooking.
I got one at sams on March for $599+tax, but I just recently got another one at my same local Sams for $399+tax. I gave the first one to my Parents and I m keeping the new one. I love grilling on my Vision Kamado.
wcscully The one I found was in Brandon Florida it was the last one that they had , over the weekend they had sold 400 of them , I paid 444.42 PS. If I locate another one I will definitely pass it by you 👍
Colts game? I'm really drooling over getting one of these, Consumer Reports has Vision Kamado's rated #2 behind Kamado Joe (for about 1/2 the price). Five years later, what is your opinion on the grill?
hi wscully, great vid thank you. I have the same one from Sam's (black color). I don't know about you but I can never maintain a low and slow (250-275) no matter how I set the vents. I even closed the top to 0 and the bottom to fully closed and it still creeps up to 350 (lowest I can get it). I use Cowboy lump charcoal (Home Depot). What am I doing wrong? thanks
You're probably starting to much charcoal. Light a small amount, then add more for the cook and close the lid and the vents down to minimal openings. You'll never get lower temps if you start out with to big of a fire.

Great video! The instructions were so vague, and your video answered several questions I has about the assembly.
Thanks Jack. Enjoy that grill!

Eric Bivens thank you! Enjoy that cooker! Some great recipes and meal ideas available from John Setzler on his Kamado Joe cooking channel on you tube.

Good video, thanks for posting.
Thanks for the review! Ours is being shipped now, should get it this Friday! This was a great guide to the assembly!
Thank you Bill and lady Bill. This is very informative and useful.

Just a point...do not lift by the side handles. Lift at the hinge and the lower air vent.
the manual says to use the side handles..
Great video, really helpful, thanks
Helpful video , purchased one yesterday at sams at clearance price , thanks for the help ! 🖖
Johannes van Hoek thank you. I’m looking to upgrade to a new one but my Sams doesn’t carry them in-store anymore. Where did you find one?
