Lunafaction's have been my sleeper PVP Exotic for years. +20 range on empowering rift means you can map people with a shotgun or fusion before they could ever get close.
And yea, it requires a rift. But don't underestimate the power of being able to counter-joust someone before they can even touch you.
Have you used for something like 3v3 game modes? If so, tell me how good it is

No no no, it isn’t +20 range. It’s **x2** range. I used to use lunas with chappy or last word a lot, for absurd range kills with the two, and I made some people wish I were dead lmao

Do not use this in 3's, it's bad. The extra map control that Transversive Steps gives you trumps it easily. It is purely a "stronger than expected" fun exotic.

ive been using luna factions in pvp for years now, love to see you repping them too! ive got a clips folder with a fair few of my stupid kills. my favourites being slug shotgun kills at 20+ meters, fusion kills at 40+ meters and ace 2 taps at practically any range. My best advice for lunas is to juice accuracy, range and aim assist above all else, and really consider your rift placement. this is because lunas only double your drop off, but do nothing to actually help you land the shots. back during Lord of wolves' heyday lunas would let you kill with it nearly at the fusion ranges. another fun pairing is the laser beam on devils ruin.

as someone who has mained lunafaction boots with a fusion in pvp since forsaken, I can confirm that Cammy was correct when talking about these boots.
A bit of info that will be pointless in 99.9% of situations with this exotic, but (last time I checked, which admittedly was quite a bit ago) the area that doubles your range extends vertically much, MUCH higher than the damage boost from the rift, so it is possible to place a rift, jump high above it with heat rises, and still maintain that x2 falloff distance from the exotic.
Another bit of not very useful tech is regarding connections. This is inconsistent, as most things network related in this game are, but if you know that your opponent does not have the best connection, you can take advantage of that by being able to occasionally very briefly maintain the lunafaction range boost outside of the rift if you quickly exit it and shoot (for example, sliding out of the rift and fire a fusion burst, hitting way further than you would w/o the exotic). This allows you to place safer rifts w/o having to set them up out in the open, like Cammy did a couple of times on Jav 4.
Cammy covered most of the details on this exotic pretty well in this video, but I feel that it is also worth noting that he did not push the range of this exotic that much. None of the shots he showed in the video were really stretching the limits that far, and that fact alone has made my years of PvP with this supposedly PvE exotic much more interesting, as I've experimented with many different weapon types. Also as Cammy said, 120 HCs are probably the best pick overall, but I have found that these boots allow primaries to cover both close and long range, and for this I have found that I prefer slightly faster firing weapons for them, so I tend to gravitate towards 180 hand cannons instead, which can 3 tap at very long ranges when in an emp rift. That being said, you can almost never go wrong with double the range, and these boots work incredibly with pretty much any primary that isn't an SMG, so if you're a warlock player who wants to have fun with a fairly obscure exotic, I strongly recommend just throwing them on and having a go. Surprising people by killing them at ranges so far that they feel illegal will never not be fun to me.
Overall, this was a great video, and I'm glad that these underrated exotics are getting a bit more attention!

Have u tried using precious scars with ember of benevolence to get really fast cooldowns on melee and grenade with an incandescent weapon to get as many chain ignitions as possible, its suprisingly good and pretty fun.

Quick summary. Dead zone is portion of controller that doesn't register input. Destiny uses about 20% dead zone. Cammy found joystick with independent dead zone configs and uses that to override default Destiny config.

I finally see someone using this combo. After seeing this video, might try this with the hawkmeme though.
Also, anyone else reading this, the hand canon part of this can be very difficult on controller from my experience because reticule friction is basically gone at high range. Would recommend accuracy perks like opening shot, keep away and maybe eye of the storm to make it easier.

Is the range bonus for Rally Barricade similar to what you get from Lunafactions?
imo they're not really comparable. Lunafactions are a x2 multiplier to your damage falloff range (PLUS a damage boost) while rally barricade is (supposedly) just a +10% increase

can you elaborate what the "deadzone fix" is and why you cant do it on something like the xbox elite?
Yesterday's video shows what he used to fix it. I believe D2 doesn't register controller values of less than 20%, so if you set it so your controller reads out 18% minimum, then there's a much smaller deadzone, meaning when you start tensioning a stick you immediately get an input.

Bungie has done such a piss poor job at giving controller and especially consoles the ability to really dial in personalized settings. They act like because people play controller, they must be too stupid to properly choose settings they should be using. It's crazy to see the vast amount of options in a game like Apex, then come back to D2 and it feels like N64 options. Even simple things like a centered reticle has been an option for PC since D2 launch, yet almost 7 years later a simple preference still isn't available to consoles. It's pathetic really...
