Staining VS Painting-What's The Difference

In this video, I go over the difference between staining and painting. The truth of the matter is that many people simply choose to stain or paint their wood without really knowing about what the main differences are. Both of the options will change the color and the overall look of the wood, but what they do to the wood to change it is completely different. With that being said, I demonstrate myself staining and painting a piece of wood and talk about the differences between both options.

If you’re doing a stain, there’s quite a few. Clear stains about 1 year, translucent, semi-transparent a few years, semi-solid about 3-5 years, solid the longest protection.
