  • We have got a few more rabbits and with that they need a place to stay. This was suppose to be a nice simple rabbit hutch, but turned out to be an awesome rabbit hutch that exceeded my expectation.

    I would have put my pocket hole on the long board and not ur short board. From my past experiences installing pocket hole running with the grain of your board tends to be weak and pulls thru! Installing on your long board would place pocket hole/screw going thru the grain.
    Just my 2C. Great build

    I want to build about the same set up but with separate cages hung onto the inside of it. That way it they need cleaning for some reason i can remove each separately

    What breed of rabbits do you house in this?

  • @johnwolf1475
    @johnwolf1475 Před 6 měsíci

    always wire on the rabbit side-- the wire keeps them from eating the wood....

    what a/b flooring to protect their feet?

    • @reneebrown2968
      @reneebrown2968 Před 3 lety +1

      The 1/2" × 1" is what is supposed to be used. If you feel they need a different surface to stand on should their feet get tender you should use a tile or board of plywood that can be washed or changed out should it get messy.

      @@gaylesmith2243 where they messed up is using chicken wire. Never use such flimsy wire on a rabbit cage. If they don't chew out you still risk predators chewing into your rabbits. Should have used 1"×2" or smaller wire for sides and top

  • @reneebrown2968
    @reneebrown2968 Před 3 lety

    You better close those end tops. Otherwise you won't have rabbits long. They will be out of there.

    Big rabbits can chew thur chicken wire Not good for Cages it pain in Back side getting Manure From under There with It being So Low

      @ASliceofWoodWorkshop  Před rokem +1

      Have had them for two years and none chewed through or on the wire. I would agree about it being a bit low to the ground. I actually added a couple stone blocks to raise it another 4 inches, after that it was all good.

    Nice build but why do a mesh floor, not good for rabbits
