    for example good candy stash.
    ring tool hollowing.
    lid is dyed "smoke oak" color for contrast.
    finished with danish oil and foodsafe pastewax.

      this record is my first and only lathe for now. once i have chanced bearings on this lathe. struggles with bigger pieces a bit but good for smaller projects like this.

    How beautiful. Love the contrast on the lid. How long did you dry the log before turning? Also, what make is the hollowing ring?

      Thanks. tree has felled down about year ago. not very dry yet which is why I decided turn lid same log assuming vessel and the lid dryes fairly similar.. hopefully. ring tool is robert sorbys tool.

      in the start 500rpm.
      and when it get piece in four jaw chuck then 1000rpm.
      hollowing at 500rpm.
