- Have you ever wondered how a hockey ice arena is painted? Here's a quick look into the process at Mount Prospect Ice Arena's 3rd sheet being completed this month.
Take a look behind the scenes while they prep the surface with white paint, trace the lines and circles, and measure everything out. Lastly they will apply the paint for the hockey rink lines, circles, face off dots, goal creases and seal it with several layers of water / ice. The process isn't completed until they build up the sheet and place any final graphics, and continue to build on top of that.

That looks like a very nice facility with staff who know what they are doing. Making Ice is as much an art as it is science. These guys make it look easy. I Love Ice In
Myself and hubby are at this point in a rebuild at work now. I’m thankful to see there is an end to this entire process 😂
2:24 There's the Paint Stick!
I suggest the battery powered backpack sprayer! Unreal
I've painted the ice at least 10 times, I hope I never do it again lol
Does this process get done before every game?
what's the song? I like it! Shazam can't find it!
Why no logos also why is the crease such a light blue
not every arena has logos this is probably a local rink no need for logos. and honestly my thought is (again a thought i known nothing about paint color because it could just be preference) that once you get a cople layers of ice down and over time it darkens and like i said could be preference too.
